FAQ
Where are most Victoria auctions held?
The majority are in Melbourne’s inner suburbs and industrial corridors — Dandenong, Port Melbourne, Campbellfield, and Moorabbin are common locations. Regional sales run out of Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, and Shepparton but are less frequent.
Can I bid online from interstate?
Yes. Most major houses like Grays, Lloyds, Pickles, Manheim all offer full online bidding with freight arrangements available for successful buyers. Large items may differ, check in advance.
What is a buyer’s premium?
A fee added to the hammer price that ranges typically 15–22% plus GST. Always check the auctioneer’s terms before bidding as they can change per item/per auction!
Are Victorian estate sales open to the public?
Yes. Most estate and household clearance sales run as public auctions, either in-room or via live online platforms like Invaluable.
How do I find preview times?
Each listing links to the auctioneer’s website where inspection dates and times are published, usually 1–2 business days before the sale.
Trends & Insights
Melbourne’s auction market continued to soften over the past week, with clearance rates diverging sharply depending on the data source. Domain reported a preliminary clearance rate of just 55% from 1,030 scheduled auctions, with 479 sales recorded across 865 reported results (Domain, May 25). This is a significant drop from the 72% clearance recorded in the same week last year, driven by increased supply and noticeably softer buyer participation. The REIV’s state wide figure of 71% from 595 auctions offered a slightly more stable picture, though still down from 73% the prior week and 84% year on year (REIV, May 24).
Listings activity surged dramatically, giving buyers greater leverage. Property Update recorded 1,032 homes listed in Melbourne for the week ending 23 May, up sharply from 890 the previous week, with a clearance of 61.7% well below the 72.1% from the same period last year (Property Update, May 23). Ham Kerr’s analysis of the broader Victorian market noted that higher supply and a national dip below 60% in both Sydney and Melbourne are handing buyers more negotiating power (Ham Kerr, May 20). Wet weather also played a role in the softening, compounding economic headwinds across the capital cities (Domain, May 25).
The divergence between Domain’s 55% and REIV’s 71% reflects different methodologies and geographic coverage, but the trend is consistent: clearance rates are easing, stock is rising, and buyer caution is deepening. With over 1,000 auctions now a regular weekly occurrence in Melbourne, vendors are facing a market where reserve prices need to align with reality to secure a sale. Buyers should watch for further listing volume increases next week, as that will likely amplify the current leverage window.

Rod’s Tips
Melbourne’s industrial suburbs are where the plant bargains are. Dandenong and Campbellfield regularly see liquidation sales from manufacturers and logistics companies that are often priced to clear, not to maximise.
Art and antique auctions close later in the day so plan accordingly. Leski, Leonard Joel, and Theodore Bruce typically close evening lots after 6pm. Set your maximum bid early if you can’t watch the close.
Regional Victoria often means less competition. Ballarat and Bendigo farm and property auctions attract smaller bidder pools. If you can organise transport, the savings can be significant.
Grays and Pickles refresh their Victorian listings mid-week. Check back on Tuesday and Wednesday for new lots added to rolling sales.
Lloyd’s Auctions
Lloyds Auctions runs nationwide online sales including many with Victoria-based pickup. Diverse categories from jewellery and homewares to caravans, classic cars, and machinery.

Brand New Caravan Parts (VICA1008)
More detail
Lloyds Auctions is putting up over a dozen brand new caravan parts, all still in their original packaging. The standout items are the caravan windows: sizes include W900xH450, W1000xH800, and W1100xH450 models, each priced at $425 to $480 retail. There are also fixed flat acrylic windows valued at $645 each, and four access hatch service doors worth $129 apiece.
For anyone building or repairing a caravan, this is a straight chance to grab genuine new stock without paying full price. The auction closes on 10 June 2026, so get your bids in early. No reserve drama here, just solid savings on parts that rarely appear at auction brand new.
Abbeys Auctions
Abbeys hold regular public sales of antiques, modern and period furniture, jewellery, coins, porcelain, tools, bric-a-brac, electrical goods, etc.

Weekly Estate ‘Green’ 2692
More detail
Abbeysauctions is running its weekly estate clearance from Box Hill, and this one is tagged "Green 2692". The auction house holds regular public sales, so the offering is a broad sweep of household goods. You’ll find antiques sitting alongside everyday furniture, with curios and retail stock thrown into the mix.
The real draw here is the variety from deceased estates. Buyers can expect anything from solid timber pieces to smaller collectables. No single star lot dominates, which means there are opportunities for sharp-eyed bidders to pick up bargains across the catalogue.
Check the close date and get in early for a preview. With regular sales, the auctioneer keeps stock moving, so items are priced to sell.
-

Unclaimed Finds 3rd June No.2695
More detail
This regular public sale from abbeysauctions at Burwood covers a broad sweep of unclaimed finds. With no in-person viewing, you are buying blind, but the catalogue typically turns up solid household furniture, vintage curios, and leftover retail stock that can flip for a quick profit.
Keep an eye on the antique pieces and any deceased estate items, as these often carry overlooked value. The collection point is at 80-86 Highbury Road, Burwood, so factor in transport for larger furniture. If you know the local market for second-hand goods, this is a reliable source of cheap stock with minimal competition from casual bidders.
-

Weekly Estate ‘Red’ No.2696
More detail
This is the 2696th edition of a long-running weekly estate auction, and it’s packed with the usual mix of deceased estate finds and retail overstock. The catalogue leans heavily on furniture: think cedar wardrobes, mahogany sideboards, and cane-backed chairs. For collectors, there are several lots of silverware, porcelain, and glassware, plus a handful of old oil paintings and prints.
If you’re after practical household gear, you’ll find kitchenware, linen, and electricals mixed in. The auctioneer runs these sales regularly, so condition varies lot by lot. Check the photos carefully. Bidding is all online, with the catalogue live now and the hammer falling on 5 June. Pickup will be from Box Hill, so factor in transport for larger items.
-

Premium Vinyl Records No.2697
More detail
This is a serious sale for collectors who know their pressings. The auctioneer has graded every lot visually against the Goldmine standard, so you can bid with confidence on condition. High-value records and small groups get individual attention, meaning no mystery boxes or bulk junk.
Box Hill’s regular public auction house is known for moving antiques, furniture, retail stock, curios and deceased estates. This particular catalogue focuses on the vinyl market, so expect everything from rare rock and jazz to classic pop. If you’re chasing clean copies for your collection or flipping stock, check the grading notes on each lot before the close date on June 11.
Leski Auctions
Based in VIC, Leski hold regular sales of art, antiques and collectables.
-

AUSTRALIAN & HISTORICAL
More detail
This is a deep catalogue for anyone serious about Australian history and decorative arts. The art section includes notable works from recognised Australian painters, while the pottery range covers studio and commercial pieces. Furniture spans colonial to mid-century, with silver and jewellery adding high-end options.
The historical documents and books are a standout. You will find material from the goldfields and convict era, including letters, maps, and records that rarely surface in a single sale. The Australiana collectables section is broad, covering coins, militaria, and ephemera.
With 1540 lots, the volume is significant. Bidders should allow time to preview the full list. The auction closes on 30 May 2026, so there is room to research and set limits. Leski is a well-known Melbourne firm, and this sale reflects their strength in historical and art material.
-

THE SPENCER SANDILANDS COLLECTION
More detail
This is the Spencer Sandilands Collection, a deep trove of Australian printed material and maritime history assembled over decades. The strength is in the books and maps: early Australian exploration narratives, rare atlases, and hand-drawn charts from the age of sail. Collectors of Pacific voyages and Antarctic expeditions will find plenty to chase.
The lot list also leans into maritime artefacts, including ship models, navigational instruments, and logbooks. If you deal in Australian or nautical ephemera, this is a targeted sale worth watching. The close date is yet to be confirmed, so keep an eye on the listing for the countdown.

Modern Design
More detail
This is a serious opportunity for design collectors, not a garage sale. Leonard Joel’s Modern Design sale brings together over a dozen lots of museum-quality pieces from the Italian and mid-century greats. The star is undoubtedly the Ettore Sottsass ‘Carlton’ room divider for Memphis Milano, a true postmodern icon that rarely hits the market in this condition.
Beyond that, you have sculptural lighting like the Vico Magistretti ‘Atollo 237’ table lamp for Oluce and a Cocoon ceiling pendant attributed to the Castiglioni brothers. Furniture is strong: a Gianluigi Gentile ‘Silene’ three-seat sofa for Sormani, Mario Bellini’s modular ‘Camaleonda’ for B&B Italia, and a set of four Carlo Scarpa ‘Kentucky’ dining chairs for Bernini. The lot list also includes an Afra & Tobia Scarpa ‘Africa’ dining table and matching ‘Artona’ sideboard for Maxalto, plus six mid-century Italian dining chairs.
Bidding is online only, so inspect the condition reports carefully before you bid. Close date is June 1, 2026, giving you time to research values. If you have been waiting for a chance to grab a slice of design history without a gallery markup, this is it.

The Collector’s Auction
More detail
This is a proper collector’s sale, not a garage-clearance job. Leonard Joel has pulled together 12+ lots spanning established names and contemporary talents. The standout is Patrick Carroll’s "Turon Contrasts" (1974), a 54x75cm oil on board that captures a classic Australian landscape. David Keeling’s "Up Close" (2007) is another big piece at 152x137cm, and Louise Hearman’s untitled oil from 2005 will draw serious interest from contemporary art buyers.
The lot list runs deep. Luke Sciberras offers "Heavitree Gap NT" (2012), a 120x120cm oil on board with that distinctive outback energy. Will Ashton’s "Hazelwood Park South Australia" is a solid investment-grade piece from a blue-chip name. Thornton Walker’s "Doubts of one kind and another (II)" (2007) brings acrylic and pigment on canvas, while Mary Scott contributes two oils from her 2009 "The Keeping Room" series.
Don’t overlook the sculpture. Philip Childs’ "Sickle Bird II" is a bronze edition 2/4, 80x50x40cm. Tim Storrier rounds out the sale with three works: a screenprint on hessian and two lithographs, all from 1981. If you’re after Australian art with provenance, this is one to watch. The auction closes 2 June.

Important Chinese & Asian Art
More detail
Leonard Joel’s "Important Chinese & Asian Art" sale offers over a dozen lots of serious porcelain, heavy on imperial marks and period pieces. The standout is the rare Chinese blue and white ‘dragon’ bat-shaped box and cover with a Wanli six-character mark. Equally noteworthy is the fine celadon glazed censer with a Qianlong mark, possibly of the period.
Buyers should eye the Kangxi-era pieces closely: the yellow-ground green-enamelled ‘dragon’ bowl and the celadon-glazed incised dragon bowl both carry six-character marks in underglaze blue. The pair of Doucai bowls, bearing a Chenghua mark but made in the Kangxi/Yongzheng period, are a classic example of later reverence for Ming styles. For collectors on a budget, the Guangxu period blue glazed cups and the 19th-century peach-blossom glazed box offer entry points without sacrificing quality.
Leonard Joel holds regular sales of fine art and antiques from their South Yarra rooms. This auction closes on 14 June 2026, so register early if you’re chasing a specific piece.
-

Arts of Asia
More detail
This is a specialist sale for collectors and researchers building a library on Asian art. The standout lots are the 18 publications by the Oriental Ceramic Society, including transactions, bulletins, and translations. Also of note are 21 books on Himalayan art and 13 reference works on Chinese and Asian lacquerware.
The auction covers a broad sweep of Asian art history. You will find 24 Chinese furniture reference works, 28 books on Chinese jade, and 13 volumes on Buddhist and Taoist sculpture and painting. Japanese print enthusiasts are well served with six boxed volumes and a large collection of 57 books on printmakers. Chinese art museum collections are covered by 17 publications, while Turkish and Islamic art gets 21 reference books.
Bidding is timed online, closing on 16 June 2026. Leonard Joel runs these sales regularly from South Yarra, so expect a well-catalogued auction. If you are building a reference library or chasing hard-to-find catalogues, this is worth a look.
Lawsons – Sydney
Each week, Lawsons Auctions offer antique and modern furniture, books, maps and prints, wine, jewellery, decorative arts, collectables, paintings, electricals and bric a brac.
-

AN ECLECTIC ART JOURNEY FROM HERE TO 1954
More detail
This is a classic Lawsons mixed-bag sale, so expect the unexpected. The art component is the headline: works range from mid-century oils and etchings through to contemporary prints, offering something for both serious collectors and casual decorators. Keep an eye on the decorative arts lots, where you’ll find silver, glassware, and ceramics mixed in with the bric-a-brac.
Furniture buyers should scan for solid timber pieces and antique cabinets, often tucked between the more modern items. Books and wine add further depth, making this a one-stop shop for anyone furnishing a home or hunting for a bargain lot to flip. Bidding closes 2 June, so register early and inspect where possible.
Grays
Grays is an online-only platform continuously listing Victorian pickup lots from major retailer clearances to forklifts and ex-hire equipment.
-
HOZELOCK, BLACK + DECKER, DYSON, CYGNETT, BREVILLE, NESPRESSO, PHILIPS, SILVERPAW, BOSCH, PHILIPS,
More detail
This is a big online catalogue for anyone restocking a kitchen, home office, or garage. The headline grabber is the NINJA Swirl by Creami 13-in-1 Soft Serve and Ice Cream Maker (model NC701ANZ), a serious piece of kit for home dessert fans. Also worth a look: the SHARK Clean And Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum (model BU3521ANZ) with only minor use noted, and the BOSCH High Pressure Washer EasyAquatak 120, good for driveway and patio cleaning.
On the office side, a LEXMARK Laser Multifunction Printer (model MX431ADW) is listed as used with no box, so factor that in if you need a reliable workhorse. The rest of the 203 lots lean heavily on brand-name small appliances and power tools. You will find Hozelock garden gear, Cygnett accessories, Silverpaw pet products, and Philips and Nespresso machines scattered through the listings.
Bidding closes 2 June 2026. Inspect the photos closely on each lot, especially for condition notes like the Lexmark. With this many items from one auction, bundling postage or picking up in Melton will save you cash.
-
Major Brands Retail Returns Clearance – No Reserve
More detail
This is a straight-up retail returns clearance from Grays, based in Victoria. All six lots are sold as-is, for parts, with zero reserve. That means the bidding starts at a dollar and the market decides the price.
The standout lots are the higher-end models: you’ll find Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S22, and Note 20 Ultra grouped together, plus a separate lot of S21 units mixed with A-series phones. There are also dedicated lots for the newer A56, A55, and A54 models, and another for the A36, A35, A34, and A32 range. Every phone is described as "for parts", so expect cracked screens, battery issues, or other faults. These are not working units.
If you repair phones, or you’re after donor boards and screens for refurbishing, this is a solid chance to grab genuine Samsung hardware cheap. The close date is June 3, 2026, so you’ve got time to inspect the listings. No reserve means the cheapest bid on the day wins, but remember: no returns, no warranties, and no guarantees any of them power on.
Pickles Auctions
Pickles Auctions VIC operates from three Melbourne locations: 12-30 Toll Drive Altona North, 41-45 McIntyre Road Sunshine, and 104-116 Operations Road Tullamarine. They run regular vehicle, salvage, equipment, and general goods auctions.
-

Melbourne Skip Bin Auction
More detail
This is a straight-up skip bin clearance from a Melbourne operation, all going in one auction. The star lot is the 8m³ Hook Bin, the biggest single unit on offer. After that, you’ve got a 4m³ Marrel Skip Bin and three 3m³ Marrel units, which are the bread-and-butter size for most hire jobs.
The rest of the lots run in multiples: four 4m³ Marrel bins, two more 3m³ bins, and a heap of smaller gear including seven 2m³ Marrel bins and eight 1.5m³ site bins. That’s 12 lots total, with the smaller bins sold in batches of three or four each. If you’re in the skip hire game or need a fleet refresh, this is a rare chance to grab a matched set in one hit. The auction closes on 3 June 2026, so get your inspection done at the Clayton South site before then.
-

Commercial Fleet Rotation – EOFY Disposal Sale – Australia-Wide
More detail
This is a genuine fleet rotation sale, not a collection of trade-in leftovers. The EOFY timing means the vendor is clearing stock for end-of-year books, so pricing should reflect a desire to move metal. The standout lot is the 2019 Kenworth T610, a popular workhorse in the linehaul game, paired with a 2019 Volvo FM 450 that also appears in duplicate. The 2018 Freightliner Coronado 114 adds variety for those running American iron.
Beyond the trucks, there is a mobile inclined bulk material conveyor for anyone in aggregates or grain handling. The lot list also includes two boxes of mixed truck parts: shock absorbers, a 14-wheel TPMS kit, brake pad kits, and sensor components. These are worth a look for operators who keep spares on hand. The Yanmar L7ON5-PETMYI motor is a niche item, likely suited to industrial or marine repower jobs.
Inspection is recommended, especially for the parts boxes where condition varies. The auction closes on June 11, 2026, so there is time to arrange a physical check at the Altona North depot. If you are in the market for a late-model rigid or prime mover, this sale has the numbers to make it worth your trip.

National Fleet Rotation Sale
More detail
This is a straight-up fleet clearance, not a mixed lot. With over a dozen trucks listed, the focus is on late-model Scanias, which dominate the catalogue. You will find R560s, R730s, a G440, and an R480, mostly from 2016 and 2017. The 2018 P440 and the 2017 R730 are standout options for buyers wanting recent gear.
The 2019 Tefco units are worth a close look, especially if you need a tipper or trailer combination. The Iveco Powerstar from 2017 adds variety for operators running a mixed fleet. All gear comes from a national operator, so service history and maintenance records should be solid.
Bidding closes on June 16, 2026. Given the volume and the scarcity of new truck supply, expect strong interest from both owner-drivers and fleet buyers. Inspections are recommended before the hammer drops.
-

UNRESERVED National Fleet Rotation Sale
More detail
This is a straight-up unreserved clearance, so everything is selling to the highest bidder with no reserve price holding things back. The lot list is heavy on semi-trailers, with a 1995 Freighter ST3 kicking off the older gear and multiple Maxitrans ST3 and ST3-OD units from 2001 to 2011. There is also a 2011 Southern Cross and a 2009 Vawdrey VB-S3 in the mix.
For buyers looking at workshop or yard equipment, the Karcher Professional Pressure Washer is a solid standalone item. With the close date on 16 June 2026, there is time to inspect, but given the unreserved nature and the sheer volume of trailers, expect strong competition from fleet operators and transport contractors. Bid accordingly.
Donington Auctions
Donington Auctions, based in Victoria, specialise in collector car and motorcycle auctions along with automotive memorabilia.
-

The Mixed Marque Model Auction
More detail
Donington Auctions is putting up a mixed selection that should appeal to anyone chasing an entry-level classic or a serious investment piece. Expect a strong showing from European marques, with the usual mix of British roadsters and Italian exotica, balanced by home-grown muscle from the Falcon and Monaro stables. Motorcycle enthusiasts are also covered, with several vintage and modern classic bikes crossing the block.
Buyers should check each lot carefully for condition and provenance. Some cars will be in show-ready shape, while others are clearly projects needing work. The auction closes on 27 May 2026, so there is time to inspect in person at the Melbourne depot. If you are after a specific model, register early and set your limit, because bidding on popular lots can run hot.
Breen Auction Group
-

Victoria Police Auction — TUESDAY 23RD JUNE 2026
More detail
Breen Auction Group has been the preferred auctioneer for Victoria Police for over 15 years, so the provenance is solid. This is a classic police auction where you’ll find a grab-bag of seized goods, from cordless drills and angle grinders to laptops, tablets, and stereo gear. There’s also general merchandise that could include everything from homewares to sporting equipment.
The key here is that lots are sold as-is, with no returns. That means a sharp eye on the photos and descriptions pays off. If you’re after workshop tools or cheap electronics to flip, this is the kind of sale where a $10 bid can net a $200 item. Just factor in pickup from Sunshine West and bring cash or card on the day.
Don’t expect a polished retail experience. Police auctions are raw, but for the bargain hunter who knows their gear, the value is often in the unknown. Get in early, inspect if you can, and bid smart.
Hymans
Hymans offer semi-regular sales of business assets and product liquidations.
-

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (“EOI’) Acting as Agents under Instruction from Andre Lakomy of AL Restructuring In The Matter Of Leuco Australia Pty Ltd (Administrator Appointed) OVER $600k AT COST OF STOCK
More detail
This is a straight-up liquidation from Leuco Australia, now under administration, with Hymans running the show. The key draw is the sheer volume of stock available at cost price over $600,000 worth. If you’re in the market for precision woodworking tooling, this is a rare chance to buy trade-grade inventory without the usual markup.
The lot list points to serious industrial gear from Leuco and Leitz, both heavy hitters in saw blades, router bits, and cutting tooling. Expect the kind of stock that usually goes to cabinetmakers, joiners, and manufacturing shops. Given the administrator’s mandate, prices should reflect a fire-sale urgency, not retail.
Buyers need to watch the close date closely it’s listed as TBC, so this one could wrap up fast once a deadline is set. Location is Victoria, with pickup likely from the company’s premises. If you need high-end tooling for your workshop or business, get in early and inspect if possible. No room for hesitation on this scale.
Manheim Auctions
Manheim Victoria is headquartered at 4 Gordon Luck Avenue, Altona North (their national head office). Weekly clearing auctions here cover passenger cars, commercial vehicles, fleet returns, and ex-government stock. Simulcast bidding is available.
