Plant Trailers, Utility Trays, Toyota Trays and Commercial, 4WD, Truck & OTR Tyres Online Welshpool Auction
A big spread of plant trailers, utility trays, and Toyota trays is hitting the online auction block in Welshpool this September, with a solid run of commercial, 4WD, truck, and OTR tyres thrown in. Ross is running the show from the Orrong Road complex, so you’re looking at everything from heavy-duty hauling gear to rubber that’ll fit a range of work and play rigs.
FAQ
Where do most Australian truck auctions come from?
The bulk come from fleet disposals by transport companies, logistics operators, and government bodies cycling out aging vehicles. Pickles and Manheim handle the largest volumes.
What should I check before bidding on a truck?
Engine hours, service history, ADR compliance, and registration status. For prime movers and heavy vehicles, a pre-purchase mechanical inspection is strongly recommended. Most auction houses will facilitate access for inspections prior to the sale.
Are trucks sold with roadworthy certificates?
Not as a rule. Most commercial vehicles are sold as-is. Budget for a roadworthy inspection and any required repairs before putting a purchase back into service.
What are the buyer’s premium rates for trucks?
Typically 10–18% plus GST. Some houses have a capped premium on high-value lots and you must check the specific terms for each sale.
Can I finance a truck bought at auction?
Trends & Insights
National Transport auction activity has intensified this week, with Manheim opening its September catalogue featuring heavy prime movers, light trucks, and trailers across multiple close dates, including a dedicated Kenworth Prime Movers and Tautliner Sets Fleet Dispersal (Manheim Australia, Sep 6). The breadth of listings, from vac trucks to refrigerated fleet liquidations, points to sustained capital recycling among transport operators rather than a seasonal lull. Auction Finder is tracking 77 upcoming truck auctions nationally, with the Holcim Major Ex National Fleet Sale alone offering 72 heavy vehicle lots, a scale that suggests corporate fleet renewal programs are feeding significant volume into the secondary market (Auction Finder, Aug 31).
Regional fleet dispersals are also commanding attention. Pickles has opened the Riverland Transport Fleet Liquidation in Pennington, SA, featuring prime movers, tipping trailers, and tri/quad/quin axle tippers from a single operator, all available for national bidding (Pickles Auctions, Sep 6). Meanwhile, Slattery Auctions is running state-based truck and machinery sales across QLD, VIC, SA, WA, and the ACT through early to mid-September, a geographic spread that underscores how decentralised buyer demand remains (Auction Finder / Slattery Auctions, Sep 1). For buyers, this means well-maintained ex-operational gear is surfacing outside the major capital city hubs, often with less competition.
The demand backdrop remains constructive. Ritchie Bros. and Smith Broughton moved over AU$100 million in combined EOFY sales, clearing 5,516 lots to more than 2,300 buyers including international participation (Highways Today, Jul 17). That result signals robust appetite for late-model transport assets, even as supply pipelines stay full. Watch this week for early bidding momentum on the Kenworth dispersal and any interstate buyer patterns on the Riverland tippers, as those will set the tone for September pricing.

Rod’s Tips
Run a PPSR check on every truck you’re serious about. Commercial vehicles can carry significant encumbrances. A $2 PPSR check is the cheapest insurance you’ll buy.
End-of-lease fleet disposals are where consistency is. Transport companies sell on a schedule and condition varies less than private sales and most have some form of service documentation.
Factor in transport and compliance costs before bidding. A truck that needs a roadworthy, new tyres etc., and freight from Brisbane to Adelaide is a different proposition than its hammer price suggests.
Heavy vehicle auctions at Manheim and Pickles run to a timetable. Major fleet clearances are announced 2–3 weeks ahead. You should get in an get your vehcile research doen as early as possible.

Tilt Tray, Hook Bin & Flat Bed Trucks Online Welshpool Auction
More detail
This one’s got real variety for anyone moving gear, rubbish, or machinery. The tilt trays are the pick of the bunch, with a couple of late-model Isuzu FTRs showing low hours and clean cabs. Hook bin trucks come with their bins, which saves you chasing separate gear, and the flat beds range from light commercial to full heavy-duty spec.
Ross’s online format means you can bid from anywhere, but the physical inspection is worth doing if you’re serious. The trucks are parked up at the Welshpool complex, so you can check for chassis rust, tyre wear, and service history before committing. Some units are ex-government or fleet vehicles, so the paperwork should be straight forward, but it’s still worth confirming registration status and any outstanding defects before the close date.
If you’re after a single workhorse or looking to add a second truck to the fleet, this sale has decent coverage across price points. The older models will suit a budget buyer happy to do a bit of mechanical work, while the newer Isuzus and Hinos are ready for immediate duties. Just be prepared to move fast when the timer winds down on the popular lots.
-

Plant Trailers, Utility Trays, Toyota Trays and Commercial, 4WD, Truck & OTR Tyres Online Welshpool Auction
More detail
Ross’s regular online auctions out of Perth are a reliable source for ex-government and business closure stock, and this one’s no different. The trailer and tray lineup is the headline act, with plant trailers built for shifting machinery and utility trays that bolt straight onto your ute. If you’re in the market for Toyota-specific trays, there’s decent variety there too, which is handy if you’re piecing together a workhorse or replacing a rusted-out original.
The tyre side of things is where the value can really stack up. Commercial truck rubber and OTR (off-the-road) tyres don’t come cheap new, so this is a chance to grab sets for fleet maintenance or a project rig without paying retail. The 4WD and light commercial stuff covers the weekend warrior crowd as well.
Buyers should factor in the Welshpool pickup location and check each lot’s condition notes before bidding, as ex-government gear can show a mix of wear. With the close date set for early September, it’s worth pencilling in a look at the full catalogue now to sort the must-haves from the maybe-laters.
-

Mining & Commercial Light Vehicles, Trucks, Plant & Machinery Traditional Karratha Auction
More detail
Ross’s traditional Karratha auction pulls together gear that actually works for the region, not just the usual clearance filler. The vehicle lineup leans towards dual-cab utes and light commercials, the kind of thing tradies and mine-site contractors run daily. On the truck side, look for tautliners, tipper bodies, and prime movers that have done real kilometres, so check service history before you bid.
Plant equipment is where the value often sits. There’s typically a range of excavators, loaders, and compaction gear, with brands like Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Hitachi popping up when stock is strong. If you’re chasing attachments or spare parts, those lots tend to fly under the radar, so it pays to scroll through the full catalogue.
Ross runs these sales regularly from Perth, and the Karratha offering is a mix of ex-fleet, business closure, and police forfeited items. That means condition varies, so inspection is worth your time. The auction is timed to suit local buyers, but online bidding is open if you’re not in the area. Keep an eye on the close date as it firms up, and register early if you plan to bid.
-

Excavator, Loaders, Drill Rigs, EWP Truck, Conveyor Belts & Caterpillar 6090 Face Shovel Bucket Online Muchea Auction
More detail
The standout is the Caterpillar 6090 face shovel bucket, a serious piece of iron for anyone in large-scale mining or earthworks. It’s the kind of item that rarely shows up in a general plant auction, so expect attention from contractors who know what replacement buckets cost.
Beyond that, the spread covers everyday workhorses: excavators in various sizes, wheel loaders for loading and stockpile work, and a drill rig for blasting or geotech jobs. The EWP truck is useful for maintenance crews or arborists, while the conveyor belts suit quarry or aggregate operations needing to move material in bulk.
Ross runs regular online sales from Perth, often mixing in WA Police forfeited goods and business closure stock, so this one has that classic “mixed bag” feel. Bidders should check the condition reports and arrange inspections beforehand, as plant like this can vary wildly from tidy to needs-work. The auction closes 16 September, so get your pre-bids sorted early.
-

Sale #2045 – Trucks & Transport
More detail
This unreserved sale is a proper mixed bag for anyone after working vehicles or parts and accessories. The truck side looks strong, with a mix of Japanese and European brands typical of fleet and owner-operator turn-over. Expect everything from daily-driver condition to project material, so inspect the photos and read the condition reports carefully.
Beyond the trucks, there’s the usual supporting cast: toolboxes, tie-downs, tow bars, and electrical gear that often slips through cheap when bundled. If you’re chasing a work ute or a second truck for a small fleet, this is the sort of auction where you can pick something up without the dealership song and dance. The sale closes on 17 September, and it’s all unreserved, so the market sets the price. Get your inspections done early and have your transport sorted before bidding.
-

Prime Movers & Semi Trailers Online Welshpool Auction
More detail
Ross has pulled together a transport-focused catalogue that leans heavily on the sort of equipment operators actually run. The prime movers are the headline act, with several highway-spec units suitable for linehaul and intrastate work. Check the service records and engine hours on each unit, as condition varies lot to lot.
The semi trailers cover the practical end of the market, including tautliners and flat tops that move freight daily. If you’re after a specific configuration, look closely at the suspension and axle counts, because there’s a mix of single and multi-axle setups. Some trailers show obvious working wear, which could mean bargaining room, but factor in any compliance work before you bid.
Ross runs these sales regularly from Perth, and the catalogue includes items from business closures and vehicle disposals. That means plenty of trade-in gear and surplus stock, so don’t assume everything is auction-house perfect. Set your inspection time early in the week, and be ready to arrange transport out of Welshpool if you win.
-

Sale #4100 – Salvage Trucks & Light Vehicles.
More detail
This is a proper clearance of damaged and end-of-life commercial gear. The Isuzu NPR with the tray body is a common site truck, ideal for a panel beater or parts recycler. The Fuso Canter is a workhorse that often gets written off for minor panel damage. The HiAce is a solid candidate for a van conversion or courier rebuild if the structural bits are straight.
Beyond the trucks, expect a mix of passenger cars and 4x4s, plus whatever industrial equipment sbauction has collected. The unreserved format means no reserve price holding things back. First in with the highest bid takes it. Check the photos carefully for damage reports and don’t assume anything is driveable. The sale closes 1 July, so get your inspection done early.
-

Sale #2044 – Trucks, Transport & More
More detail
This is an unreserved sale, so everything must go. The lot list leans heavily on work-ready utes and trucks, including a 2008 Isuzu NPS 300 tray truck and a 2012 Toyota Hiace van. If you need a solid fleet vehicle or a site runabout, there is decent variety here.
Buyers should inspect before bidding. The auction house runs regular sales, so they move stock quickly. Check the photos for each vehicle’s condition, as some show typical work-site wear. Registration status varies per lot, so factor that into your budget. Bidding closes 29 July 2026.
-

Grays Perth Truck And Machinery Auction
More detail
The ASV RT65 is the headline act here, a late-model machine that’s barely run-in. Posi-Track undercarriage gives it serious flotation and grip on soft ground, so it’s a solid pick for earthworks or site prep. If you’re after a low-hour loader without paying new-machine money, this is worth a close look.
The Volvo 500 6×4 tipper is the other side of the coin, built for bulk hauling and site work. With a 500-series cab and six-wheel drive, it’s a proper workhorse. Check the service history and body condition before bidding, as tippers cop plenty of abuse.
Both lots are in Perth’s southern suburbs, so arrange an inspection if you’re serious. The close date is still to be confirmed, so watch the listing for updates and get your paperwork ready if you’re planning to bid.
-

Grays Perth Truck Auction
More detail
The 2006 Hino FG is the straightforward choice for local cartage or site work. It’s a 4×2 tray truck, meaning it’s built for practicality rather than show, and should appeal to tradies or small fleet operators after a dependable unit without the new-truck price.
On the other end, the 2026 Spartan ST3 is the standout. It’s a 45ft extendable tri-axle, which gives you serious flexibility for long loads. Being brand new, it’s about as close to factory-spec as you’ll find at auction, and the extendable deck opens up work that a standard trailer can’t handle.
With only two lots on offer, this one’s straightforward. Check the close date on the listing, and if you’re after either a proven workhorse or a modern heavy hauler, get your inspection done early.
-

2017 Freightliner, 2008 Volvo Prime Mover & Custom Refrigerated Trailer
More detail
The Freightliner Coronado is the standout here, a late-model unit that should draw plenty of interest from operators wanting a modern cabover with serious pulling power. The Volvo 520 is a solid workhorse in its own right, and the 2008 build date means it’s eligible for a range of freight work without the depreciation hit of a newer truck.
The custom refrigerated pantech trailer is the wildcard, tri-axle setup with a fridge unit that suits food distribution or any temperature-sensitive hauling. Buyers should check service history and fridge condition before bidding, as those are the two areas that can sting you later. All three lots are offered together in one sale, so it’s a chance to grab a matched setup or cherry-pick the unit that fits your operation.
-

Perth Truck, Trailer And Machinery Auction
More detail
The 2011 Hino 500 1628 4×2 curtainsider is the pick for anyone after a proven workhorse, offering plenty of cube space for freight work. If you’re after something lighter, the 2021 Mitsubishi FB20TCB electric truck brings zero-emission running and low running costs, a rare find at auction.
On the machinery side, the Toro Groundsmaster 4300 is a serious mower for parks, sports fields, or large acreage, built to handle big cuts efficiently. There’s also a 2004 John Papas JPT A trailer in the mix, which could suit a range of hauling jobs.
With only six lots listed, this is a tight, focused auction, so expect the bidding to move quickly. Check the lot photos and condition reports before the close date, and be ready to move if you want one of these units.

QLD, SA/ NT & WA Trucks & Transport (Online)
More detail
The heavy hitters here are the prime movers. That 2022 Mack Titan CLXT is about as current as they come in this sector, and it’ll likely draw the serious interstate operators. The 2016 Volvo FE300 is a solid city or regional workhorse, while the 1986 Mitsubishi FM515 is a genuine classic, possibly more appealing to collectors or parts buyers than daily drivers. On the trailer side, you’ve got a 2021 Stonestar Semi BD-RT and a 2016 Swinglift ST3, both useful for tipper or crane work depending on your setup.
Don’t overlook the smaller stuff. The 2009 Hino 500 and the 2011 Toyota Coaster are practical buys for fleet operators or tradies needing a reliable secondary vehicle. The Vawdrey VB S3 units, from 2012 and 2008, are common on Australian roads, meaning parts and servicing won’t be an issue.
Pickles runs these national transport auctions regularly, so the condition reports and photos should be detailed. Given the spread across three states, factor in transport costs or inspect the gear closest to you before bidding. The 2021 Maxitrans ST3 and the 2020 Fuso are the newer options if you want something with less wear, but the older gear could be the value picks if

(SOLD) 2023 Isuzu NQR 87-190 Tabletop Truck Online Auction
More detail
This is a single-lot auction for a 2023 Isuzu NQR 87-190 fitted with a tabletop body. It’s a current-model truck with very low kilometres, so you’re effectively buying a nearly new vehicle at a used price. The NQR platform is a proven performer in Australia, known for its 7.5-tonne GVM and the reliable 190hp diesel engine.
The tabletop body is a practical choice for carrying building materials, pallets, or general freight. With the auction closing in late May 2026, there’s time to inspect and arrange finance. Given the current supply constraints on new trucks, this could be a smart buy for anyone needing a solid work truck without the dealer premium.
Buyers should factor in the usual online auction fees and arrange their own transport. The truck is likely available for inspection prior to the close, so get in touch with liquidassets to confirm viewing details.

Prime Movers, Trailers, Containers And More
More detail
The Stralis is the headline act here, and for good reason. A 2017 model in a 6×4 configuration is a serious workhorse for linehaul or local work, and it’s the kind of truck that holds its value if the service history stacks up. Pair it with the 2010 Maxitrans ST3 Flexiliner curtainsider and you’ve got a complete B-double or single-trailer setup ready to go.
Beyond the rolling stock, there’s a 2006 Intermodal 40-foot curtainsider container that could suit storage or shipping, plus two hose reels with nozzles for the yard or workshop. With 35 lots total, it’s a tight, focused sale rather than a paddock full of unknowns. Check the close date on the listing, as it’s still marked TBC, and get in early to inspect the Stralis.

Gollant — Major Timber Yard Auction Joinery P And E Trucks And Forklifts
More detail
Gollant’s putting together a proper timber-yard clearance that covers both the workshop and the yard. The crane trucks are the headline act, with late-model Iveco and Isuzu units offering serious reach for loading and site work. If you’re after lifting capacity, the 5-tonne forklift is the pick, but the smaller 2.5-tonne unit is handy for tighter spaces.
The machinery list is where the value sits for cabinetmakers and joiners. A full range of solid timber gear includes rip saws, a tenoner, panel saw, and thicknessers, so you could feasibly outfit a small shop in one go. Bandsaws are also mentioned, which rounds out the cutting side nicely.
Buyers should check the close date as it’s still listed as TBC, so keep an eye on the auctioneer’s page for the update. Melbourne-based, so freight and pickup logistics are straightforward if you’re coming from regional VIC or interstate. This is a working yard’s gear, so expect wear consistent with commercial use, but the range and depth here mean there’s something for both the tradie and the dealer.

2013 Isuzu NPR 200 Medium Pantech Trucks
More detail
These are proper workhorses for anyone running courier routes, furniture delivery, or general freight around town. The Sitec 155 Series III bodies are the pick of the bunch, offering a good balance of payload and manoeuvrability in the 200-series platform. All three are 4×2 configuration, which keeps things simple on running costs and tyre wear.
The 2013 build year puts these right in the sweet spot for the 4HK1-TC 5.2-litre turbo diesel, a motor known for going the distance when serviced properly. Being pantechs, they’re ready to work straight away, no mucking about with tray or curtain conversions. If you need one truck, or a small fleet, buying all three in one go could give you some serious negotiating power at the auction.
Check the service history and inspect the rear doors for any signs of forklift damage, as that’s the usual weak point on pantechs of this age. Also worth confirming the current registration status, as that can vary. Grays will have the full condition reports up closer to the close date, so get your inspection sorted early if you’re serious.
-

2008 Daf CF7585 4×2 Prime Mover & 2013 Isuzu NPR 200 Medium 4×2 Pantech
More detail
The Daf CF7585 is the one for serious operators. It’s a proper line-haul unit, and the 4×2 config keeps things simple for B-double work or single trailer runs. The Isuzu NPR, on the other hand, is the practical city truck, with the pantech body meaning it’s ready to load up and go for courier or retail distribution duties.
Buyers should check the service history on the Daf, as these units are built for high kilometres and condition is everything. The Isuzu is the more approachable buy for a small business looking to step up from a van, and the pantech body adds real value if it’s in decent nick. Both are listed in the trucks category, so expect interest from trade buyers and owner-operators alike.
With only two lots, this is a quick, focused sale. Get your inspection sorted before the close date is confirmed, and have your paperwork ready. Grays runs a tight process, and these trucks won’t hang around once bidding opens.
