FAQ
Which auction houses sell cars in Perth?
Pickles and Manheim operate Perth’s highest-volume vehicle auction yards. Ross’s Auctioneers is Perth’s leading general auctioneer with regular vehicle events. Grays also lists WA vehicles online continuously.
Are mining industry vehicles common at Perth auctions?
Yes. WA’s resources sector generates strong fleet disposal volume. Ex-mining 4WDs, dual-cabs, and company vehicles regularly appear at Perth auctions. They are often in excellent mechanical condition despite high kilometres.
Can eastern states buyers bid on Perth lots?
Yes. Online bidding is available on all major platforms. Factor in freight costs: Perth to east coast is typically $800–$1,400 for a car.
Trends & Insights
WA buyers are firmly in the driver’s seat as unprecedented EOFY conditions take hold. Over 50% of used vehicles sold in the state required a price reduction in June, with the average discount depth hitting its lowest level of the year and days-to-sell stretching to 51.8 (Car Giant WA, Jun 19). Petrol and diesel variants are being heavily discounted to move metal, while hybrids remain resilient, holding value better than the broader market.
National wholesale prices confirm the softening trend, declining 0.1% in the week ending June 15 (Datium Insights, Jun 15). Ex-lease vehicles took the hardest hit with a 2.3% drop, and top traded models like the Mitsubishi Outlander fell 7.93%. Clearance rates and sales volumes are both down, signaling that motivated sellers are chasing fewer active buyers at the wholesale level.
Local auction activity reflects this clearance mentality. Pickles held its weekly Western Australian Government Vehicle Auction on June 16, offering over 200 government and fleet vehicles in Perth (Pickles Auctions, Jun 16). Smith Broughton is running multiple timed online auctions for utes and 4WDs from Midland and Port Hedland through June 24 (Smith Broughton Auctioneers, Jun 16), and Slattery Auctions concluded a general items auction on June 18 featuring 64 listings including vehicles from its Jandakot site (Slattery Auctions, Jun 18).
Buyers should watch for further price adjustments on ex-lease and fleet stock in the final week of June as sellers race to clear inventory before the financial year closes.

Rod’s Tips
Ross’s Auctioneers is a Perth institution worth watching every week. Quality is consistently high and the buyer pool is smaller than east-coast equivalents offering better prices for prepared bidders.
Mining fleet vehicles are a WA specialty. High kilometres but well-maintained. Check service records and run a PPSR before bidding. Rust and frame damage can be an issue to be mindflu of.
Preview days at Ross’s are essential. Condition is everything. Ross’s staff are knowledgeable, use the inspection session and ask questions.
Pickles
Pickles WA operates from Welshpool (Perth), running weekly vehicle auctions covering passenger cars, 4WDs, utes, ex-mining fleet, and ex-government stock.
Slattery Auctions
Offices at Stafford QLD, Hexam NSW, Dandenong South VIC, Midvale WA. Auctions with online bidding and onsite auctions. Including business closures, ex-lease, vehicles, trucks and machinery.

2016 BMW 5 Series 520d G30 Turbo Diesel Automatic – 8 Speed Sedan
2016 BMW 5 Series 520d G30 Turbo Diesel Automatic – 8 Speed Sedan. Individual car or light commercial lot from Grays Online rolling auction — passenger vehicles, SUVs, utes, and vans.
-

2008 Suzuki GSX-R1000R3 Petrol (WOVR – Statutory)
More detail
This is a straight-up individual motorcycle listing, not a multi-lot clearance. The 2008 GSX-R1000R3 is a well-known litre-class sports bike, and this one is being sold as-is with a Statutory Write-off classification. That means it has been damaged and repaired to a roadworthy standard in the past, but you will need to confirm with your state transport authority whether it can be re-registered.
The auction is part of Grays Online’s rolling format, so the close date is not set. Bid when you are ready, but pay attention to the countdown once the timer starts. No other lots are listed with this one, so it is a standalone sale. If you are after a project bike or a track-day machine, this could be worth a look. Just do your homework on the WOVR status first.
-

2008 Jeep Wrangler Sport Petrol
More detail
This is a straight-up vehicle lot from Grays’ ongoing online sales, so no fixed closing date means you need to watch the listing closely. The 2008 Wrangler Sport is a solid entry point for someone wanting a capable off-roader without the premium of later models. It comes as a single motorcycle-style lot, not bundled with other gear, which keeps it simple. Check the listing for current bid status and any registration details before jumping in.
-

2011 Toyota Landcruiser Prado GX Diesel
More detail
This Prado GX comes with the 3.0-litre turbo diesel, known for strong low-range torque and decent fuel economy on the highway. The GX spec is the no-frills workhorse model, so you get cloth seats and manual air conditioning instead of leather and dual-zone climate. That makes it a better buy if you plan to fit out the back or use it as a tourer.
Buyers should check the service history and look for signs of typical Prado wear, like cracked dashboard plastic or worn suspension bushes. The example appears to be a standard trade-in unit, so expect some cosmetic scuffs and stone chips consistent with a 14-year-old four-wheel drive. If the kays are reasonable and the timing belt has been done, this could be a solid base for a camping rig or a reliable daily.
-

2012 Toyota Yaris YR Petrol
More detail
This Yaris YR is a basic but reliable hatchback from the 2012 model year, running on petrol. It comes from Grays’ rolling stock of individual vehicle lots, meaning there is no fixed close date to rush for. You can inspect the car in Jandakot before committing.
Buyers should focus on the condition of the 1.3-litre engine and transmission, common weak points on this generation. The YR trim is the entry-level variant, so expect steel wheels, manual air conditioning, and a simple stereo. If the body is straight and the interior is clean, this could be a solid city runabout for someone who does not need frills.
-

2003 Mercedes-Benz E500 Elegance Petrol
More detail
This is the E500, which means a 5.0-litre V8 under the bonnet making around 300 horsepower. The Elegance trim was the luxury-focused package, so expect woodgrain interior and a more refined ride compared to the sportier Avantgarde models.
It is being sold as a single motorcycle and vehicle lot, so no bidding on a mixed pallet here. Check the car’s registration status and service history before you bid, as a 21-year-old German V8 can be expensive to maintain if it has been neglected. The close date is yet to be confirmed, so keep checking the listing for the timer to appear.
-

2003 Holden Adventra CX8 Petrol
More detail
This Adventra CX8 gave Holden a crack at the SUV market before the Captiva arrived. It runs the Gen III V8 from the Commodore, backed by a four-speed automatic. That means proper towing capacity and a drivetrain built for Aussie conditions.
The CX8 trim sits above the base CX6, offering a more powerful engine and extra gear. The lot includes the vehicle only, so factor in transport from Jandakot. Given the age and the specific model, this is a niche buy for someone who wants a V8 wagon with genuine off-road ability. Check the body and interior photos carefully, as these cars had their share of trim issues and electrical quirks.
-

Yamaha Dirt Bike Petrol
More detail
This is an individual motorcycle lot from Grays Online’s ongoing auction schedule. The bike is listed as a Yamaha dirt bike, so expect a proven trail or motocross platform. It runs on petrol, which is standard for this class of machine.
Buyers should check the listing for the specific engine size, model year, and condition. Given it is a single-lot listing, inspect the photos closely for wear and tear. Factor in any registration or compliance costs if you plan to ride it on public land.
-

2007 Holden Commodore SS V Petrol
More detail
This is a standalone vehicle lot from Grays Online, not part of a multi-lot clearance. The Commodore SS V packs a 6.0-litre V8 petrol engine, making it a genuine Aussie muscle car from the VE generation. It’s a single-owner-style listing, so expect the usual Grays condition notes.
Check the photos for body wear and interior condition, as these are often sold as-is with no warranty. The rolling auction format means the price climbs in real time, so set your own ceiling and stick to it. If you’re chasing a cheap V8 daily or a project car, this could be worth a bid.
-

2013 Audi A4 Petrol
More detail
This is a standalone lot from Grays Online, not part of a larger fleet clearance. The 2013 A4 petrol model offers a solid balance of comfort and running costs, making it a practical buy for someone after a European sedan without the premium price of a diesel.
Check the service history and overall condition before bidding. As with any Grays auction, inspect the photos closely and factor in the buyer’s premium and any applicable fees. The close date is yet to be confirmed, so keep checking the listing for updates.
-

2008 Toyota Aurion AT-X Petrol
More detail
This listing is a solo vehicle lot, not part of a multi-lot clearance. The Aurion AT-X is a solid, no-fuss sedan from the late 2000s, known for its reliable V6 and roomy interior. If you need a daily driver or a basic fleet car, this is a direct buy.
Check the current condition report and service history before bidding. As a single item from Grays, the auction will close once the reserve is met. Factor in the buyer’s premium and pickup from Jandakot when working out your total cost.
-

Kawasaki OffRoad Petrol
More detail
This is an individual motorcycle lot, so you are bidding on one machine, not a fleet. The Kawasaki off-road model runs on petrol and is listed in the motorcycles and vehicles categories. It is part of Grays Online’s ongoing auction schedule, meaning the close date is yet to be confirmed.
If you are in the market for a dedicated dirt bike, this is a straightforward purchase from a major auction house. No bundles, no extra gear. Just the bike. Check the listing for the exact model year and engine size before you bid.
-

2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 Motorcycle
More detail
This Ninja 300 comes from a private seller and includes the original toolkit and owner’s manual. It’s finished in the classic lime green with the distinctive Ninja fairing, and the seller notes it has been regularly serviced. The bike runs on a liquid-cooled parallel twin, offering enough punch for highway riding without scaring new riders.
Check for any cosmetic scuffs from city parking or low-speed drops, common on this age of bike. The 26,000 km is moderate for a 2013 model, so ask Grays about service history intervals. Given it is a single-lot rolling auction, the price will climb as the close date approaches. Set a firm budget before you bid.
-

1997 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R Petrol
More detail
This is an individual motorcycle lot from Grays Online’s ongoing auction. The ZX-9R was a serious performer in its day, offering a liquid-cooled inline-four that could push well over 150 hp. For a 1997 model, it’s a genuine late-90s Japanese sports bike, not a restored show pony.
Buyers should check the listing for current condition details, odometer reading, and any registration status. Given the age, expect typical wear for a 27-year-old machine. If you’re after a project bike or a budget entry into the litre-class era, this could be worth a look. The auction close date is yet to be confirmed, so check the Grays site for updates.
-

2007 Mercedes-Benz E280 Elegance Petrol
More detail
This is a straight-up used car listing from the E-Class range, known for a smooth V6 and a comfortable ride. The "Elegance" trim means it came with woodgrain interior and a focus on luxury over sportiness. If you need a reliable German sedan for daily duties or a highway cruiser, this model is a solid pick.
Buyers should check the photos for condition and any service history in the listing. It’s a petrol engine, so no diesel concerns. With the close date still to be confirmed, you have time to inspect the details before placing a bid.
