FAQ

Which auction houses sell cars in Sydney?
Pickles Auctions in Belmore and Manheim in Moorebank are the two highest-volume vehicle auctioneers in Sydney, running weekly sales. Lloyds, Grays, and Slattery also regularly list NSW vehicles online. Classic and collector car specialists like Burns & Co. run periodic Sydney events.

Do Sydney vehicle auctions require ID and a deposit to bid?
Most major platforms require a pre-authorised credit card hold or refundable deposit before your bidding account is activated. National ID is also required by major auctioneers. It’s recommended to register well in advance so that everything is processed before auction day.

Can I inspect vehicles before bidding?
In most cases. Pickles no longer offers inspections. In such a case, condition reports and PPSR checks substitute for physical inspection, so bid accordingly. Always check for finance encumbrances before bidding.

What is the buyer’s premium at Sydney car auctions?
Typically 10–18% plus GST depending on the auctioneer and sale type, there may be additional fees depedning on the vehicle type eg EV’s at Pickles incur an extra $100 fee. Check the individual listing for specifics. Always add the premium to your maximum bid to calculate your true total cost.

Rod’s Tips

Run a PPSR check before bidding on any vehicle. For $2, the Personal Property Securities Register reveals outstanding finance, theft records, and write-off history. A vital step before any used vehicle purchase at auction.

Manheim Moorebank and Pickles Belmore run weekly government fleet sales. These are often the best-value vehicles at auction as they are regularly serviced, well-documented, and usually sold without reserve.

Inspect in person where possible. Condition reports are useful but don’t replace a walk-around. Most auctioneers offer inspection days and you should use them, especially for higher-value lots.

Keep transport costs in mindAt major auctioneers, unless the vehicle has registration, you may not be able to drive the vehicle away. Clarify this in advance and budget accordingly.

Manhiem or Pickles? Which is Better? Over the years, I have bought vehicles from both, personally I think they are both very professional and that the most important thing is to understand the nature of buying at auction and to do your own research and inspection on any vehicle you wish to buy. Like any auction house, there is little chance for negotiation after the sale, but there is always an opportunity beforehand…

    Tue 18 Aug 2026 • Sydney, NSW • 8 lots • Pickles

A solid spread of everyday family and work vehicles is heading to auction in Sydney’s southwest, with no reserve holding anything back. The list includes a 2018 Mitsubishi Triton GLX, a 2016 Volkswagen Golf 110TSI, and a 2008 Honda Jazz VTi-S that could be a cheap runabout.

    More detail

Pickles is clearing eight vehicles from its Belmore site on 18 August, and the mix covers the usual suburban driveway staples. The 2018 Holden Colorado LS and the Triton GLX are the pick of the utes, both late-model and likely to see plenty of interest from tradies or anyone needing a second workhorse. On the car side, the 2016 CR-V VTi-S and the 2012 Camry Atara SX are the sort of units that tend to sell on condition rather than spec, so check the service history if you can.

The Golf 110TSI is worth a close look if you want something with a bit more polish than the average fleet car, while the 2013 Mondeo Titanium and the Kia Cerato S round out the affordable end. Being unreserved, every lot will sell to the highest bidder, no games. Inspections are the key here, get down to Harp Street beforehand and kick the tyres, because photos only tell half the story. Registration status and any damage will be spelled out in the condition reports, so read them carefully before you bid.

  • (Yennora) Motor Vehicle Auction PV

    (Yennora) Motor Vehicle Auction PV

    Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • 13 lots • Grays Online

A mixed batch of cars and utes is hitting the auction block in Yennora, NSW, with Grays running the show. The standouts include a 2023 Mitsubishi Triton GLX diesel, a 2018 Holden Calais petrol, plus older Euro options like a 2010 Audi Q7 diesel and a 2009 BMW 118d.

    More detail

The Triton GLX is the pick for tradies or anyone needing a late-model dual-cab without paying showroom prices. It’s a 2023, so it’s still under factory warranty if the km’s are sensible, and diesel running gear means it’ll hold its value better than the petrol options here.

The Holden Calais is worth a look for buyers chasing a comfortable local sedan, while the Audi Q7 and BMW 118d offer European badges at the budget end, but factor in servicing costs before you bid. With 13 lots total, it’s a small catalogue, so check each listing carefully for condition reports and rego status. Auctions like this often mix fleet cars and trade-ins, so expect a bit of wear and tear, but also the chance to snag something solid if you’re patient.

  • 2016 Volkswagen Golf Trendline Petrol

    2016 Volkswagen Golf Trendline Petrol

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A 2016 Volkswagen Golf Trendline petrol is up as an individual lot, listed by Grays in Yennora, NSW. It’s a solid daily driver option, with the 1.4-litre turbo and auto box making city work easy. Check the service history and condition report before bidding.

    More detail

This Golf is part of Grays’ ongoing vehicle roster, which mixes in everything from small hatches to dual-cab utes and vans. The Trendline is the no-frills end of the VW range, but that’s not a bad thing: it gets the same punchy TSI engine and tight handling as pricier models, just with manual air-con and cloth seats. For anyone needing a reliable commuter or a first car, it’s a straightforward pick.

The lot is a single vehicle, not a bulk deal, so you’re bidding on one car only. That means less competition than a full fleet auction, but also no chance to bundle. Inspect the photos closely for panel gaps, tyre wear, and any obvious dings, and factor in a pre-purchase inspection if you can get one done locally. Grays runs these listings on a timed close, so have your max figure in mind and stick to it.

  • 2011 Audi A4 Sedan (Petrol) (Auto) **No Reserve**

2011 Audi A4 Sedan (Petrol) (Auto) **No Reserve**

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A 2011 Audi A4 sedan is going under no reserve in Yennora, NSW, with Grays handling the sale. The petrol auto is a solid chance for a European daily driver without the usual price tag, and it’s listed as a single vehicle lot among mixed passenger and light commercial stock.

    More detail

This one’s a straight-up individual lot, not part of a bulk fleet clear-out. The 2011 A4 is a 2.0 TFSI petrol with an automatic, so it’s got enough punch for highway work and the comfort you’d expect from Audi’s mid-size sedan. No reserve means the highest bid takes it, plain and simple, which is where the value sits if you’re prepared to chase it.

Grays is running this as part of their ongoing vehicle listings, with the catalogue also pulling in SUVs, utes, and vans around the same yard. That makes it worth a look if you’re after a single car, not a job lot. Check the service history and condition report before bidding, because with no reserve the final price will reflect exactly what’s in front of you. The auction closes on 9 August 2026, so there’s time to do your homework.

  • 2018 Nissan X-Trail ST Wagon (Petrol) (Auto)

2018 Nissan X-Trail ST Wagon (Petrol) (Auto)

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A 2018 Nissan X-Trail ST wagon is up in Yennora, NSW, with Grays handling the sale. It’s a petrol auto, so no diesel drama, and it’s part of a broader run of passenger cars, SUVs, utes, and vans moving through the same auction.

    More detail

This X-Trail ST is the no-frills family hauler that’s done the rounds on Aussie roads, and this one’s a 2018 model with the petrol engine and auto gearbox. The ST is the base trim, so you’re getting the essentials: five doors, decent boot space, and that reliable Nissan SUV feel without the fancy extras. For buyers after a practical daily driver or a second car, it’s a solid pick if the price stays sensible.

The listing is part of Grays’ rolling vehicle sale, which means the X-Trail sits alongside a mixed lineup of passenger cars, utes, and vans. That’s handy if you’re after one specific thing, but it also means you can compare similar stock in the same sale. Check the condition report and photos before bidding, as Grays usually flags any major issues, but don’t expect a dealer-grade inspection. The auction closes on 9 August, so factor in the usual last-minute bidding rush if you’re keen.

  • 2017 Honda Odyssey Wagon (Hybrid-Petrol) (Auto) **Import**Sold Registered to All Buyers**

2017 Honda Odyssey Wagon (Hybrid-Petrol) (Auto) **Import**Sold Registered to All Buyers**

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A 2017 Honda Odyssey Hybrid wagon is up in Yennora, NSW, with Grays handling the sale. It’s an import, but registered to all buyers, so no drama there. The lot list points to a tidy people-mover with the hybrid-petrol auto drivetrain, ideal for families or anyone chasing cheap running costs.

    More detail

This one’s a straight import Odyssey, meaning you’re getting the hybrid setup that wasn’t officially sold new in Australia. That gives you the fuel economy without the dealer premium you’d pay on a local-spec model. It’s listed as a single vehicle lot in Grays’ rolling auction, so expect the usual bidding pattern: start low, climb as the close date nears.

The hybrid-petrol combo is the headline here, but it’s also a 2017 model, so you’re getting a relatively modern car with modern safety and infotainment gear. Being an import, check the compliance plate and any conversion work before you bid, but the “sold registered to all buyers” note means Grays has handled the paperwork. If you need a seven-seater that sips fuel, this is worth a serious look.

Yennora pickup is straightforward for Sydney buyers, and Grays runs a tight process for vehicle collection. No word on odometer or service history in the listing, so factor in a pre-bid inspection or at least a phone call to the auction house. The hybrid battery is the main thing to verify, but at auction pricing, you’ve got room to move.

  • 2018 Holden Astra RS Hatch (Petrol) (Auto)

2018 Holden Astra RS Hatch (Petrol) (Auto)

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A 2018 Holden Astra RS hatch is up in Yennora, NSW, with the auction closing 9 August. This one’s a petrol auto, so it’s a solid daily driver prospect without the new-car price tag. Grays is running it as a single-vehicle lot, so no wading through a massive catalogue to find it.

    More detail

The Astra RS is the sharp end of Holden’s small-car range, and this one’s got the 1.6-litre turbo petrol under the bonnet, mated to a six-speed auto. It’s a hatch, so you’re getting the practical body style with a bit of punch, and the RS trim adds sportier seats, a nicer wheel, and that Holden-specific tuning. If you’re after a late-model runabout with some poke, this is worth a look.

Being a Grays Online auction, it’s a straightforward single-lot listing, not a bulk fleet dump. That means you’re bidding against other private buyers, not dealers cherry-picking a whole batch. Check the condition report and photos carefully, as Grays doesn’t sugarcoat wear and tear. The close date is 9 August, so you’ve got time to do your homework, but don’t leave the bid to the last minute, as the timer can jump with late action.

  • 2016 Mazda CX-9 GT Wagon (Petrol) (Auto)

2016 Mazda CX-9 GT Wagon (Petrol) (Auto)

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A 2016 Mazda CX-9 GT wagon is up in Yennora, NSW, with Grays Online. It’s the petrol, auto version, so you’re getting the strong 2.5-litre turbo and a cabin that stacks up well against far pricier SUVs. Check the lot for the full service history and any cosmetic notes before you bid.

    More detail

This CX-9 GT is the top-spec trim from its generation, meaning you get the full leather interior, powered front seats, sunroof, and the 8-inch infotainment with sat-nav. The turbo four punches well above its weight, and the six-speed auto is a proven unit. It’s a seven-seater that actually drives like a car, not a bus.

Grays is running this as part of its rolling passenger vehicle and light commercial listings, so there’s likely a mix of SUVs, utes, and vans alongside it. If you’re after a family hauler without the dealer premium, this one’s worth a serious look. Factor in the usual auction fees and check the condition report closely, especially for any panel or interior wear that photos might hide.

  • 2024 Toyota Kluger GX Wagon (Petrol 2.4L Turbo) (Auto)

2024 Toyota Kluger GX Wagon (Petrol 2.4L Turbo) (Auto)

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A Toyota Kluger GX Wagon, petrol 2.4L turbo auto, is sitting at $19,500 right now in Yennora, NSW, with Grays running the show. That’s a late-model family SUV with the punchy turbo motor, and the lot list also includes other passenger cars, SUVs, utes, and vans.

    More detail

This one’s a single-vehicle listing from Grays Online, but the wider auction pool is pulling in a solid mix of everyday transport. The Kluger GX is the pick of the bunch so far, and the current bid suggests it’s still got room to move before the close date lands. Petrol 2.4L turbo with a auto box is a proven combo for school runs and highway miles alike, and the wagon body keeps it practical.

If you’re after a daily driver without the new-car price tag, this is worth a look. Check the service history and condition report before bidding, as Grays listings typically sell as-is. The Yennora pickup point is convenient for Sydney buyers, but interstate bidders can factor in transport if the price stays sensible. Keep the close date on your radar, as it’s still marked TBC, so don’t assume you’ve got weeks.

  • 2009 BMW 118d Diesel

    2009 BMW 118d Diesel

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A 2009 BMW 118d diesel manual is sitting at $3,150 with reserve met, part of a Grays Online vehicle auction running out of Yennora, NSW. The lot list also includes passenger cars, SUVs, utes, and vans, so there’s more than just the Beemer to sift through.

    More detail

This one’s a straight-up private sale style listing through Grays Online, not a dealer lot. The 118d is the pick of the bunch if you want a frugal daily that still feels sharp to drive. The manual gearbox is a plus for anyone who likes to row their own, and the diesel should return decent figures on the daily commute.

Beyond the BMW, the auction covers a mixed spread of light commercial and passenger vehicles. Expect the usual trade-ins and fleet cast-offs, so condition will vary. Check the photos carefully, factor in rego and any roadworthy requirements, and remember Grays runs these as timed events, so the close date is listed as TBC. If you’re after a cheap runabout or a work ute, this is worth a look before bidding heats up.

  • 2018 Holden Calais Petrol

    2018 Holden Calais Petrol

Sun 9 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

A used Holden Calais petrol sedan is sitting at $3,500 right now, part of a Grays Online rolling auction out of Yennora, NSW. The lot list also covers SUVs, utes, and vans, so there’s more than just one sedan to weigh in on.

    More detail

This is a single-vehicle listing that’s part of a larger Grays Online disposal, with the Calais being the standout so far. It’s a sports automatic, petrol-powered, and showing as used, which means you’re looking at a daily driver rather than a showpiece. The current bid of $3,500 is a decent entry point for a Holden Calais, but check the condition report before you jump in, as these can vary wildly.

The broader auction includes a mix of passenger cars, SUVs, utes, and vans, so if the Calais isn’t your pick, there’s likely something else in the same sale that fits. Grays runs these as rolling auctions, so the close date is listed as TBC, which means you’ll need to monitor the listing yourself rather than waiting for a set deadline. Inspections are usually available, so get in touch with the auctioneer if you want to eyeball the Calais before bidding.

A mixed batch of everyday cars is hitting the auction block in Yennora, NSW, with Grays handling the sale. The lineup includes a 2023 Toyota Camry SL Hybrid, a 2018 Volkswagen Golf, a 2008 Audi A4, and a 2015 Subaru XV S, all petrol or hybrid-powered.

    More detail

This is a straight-up private vehicle auction with 11 lots, no heavy machinery or trailers to wade through. The standout is the 2023 Camry SL Hybrid, which should pull interest from anyone after a late-model sedan without the new-car showroom price. The 2018 Golf is a solid all-rounder for a first car or a daily commuter, while the 2015 Subaru XV S gives you the raised ride height and all-weather capability that suits Australian roads.

The 2008 Audi A4 is the wildcard here. It’s got European badge appeal, but at this age you’ll want to check the service history and look for any oil leaks or electrical gremlins before bidding. With only 11 lots, the auction will move quickly, so have your inspection done early and your bidding limit set. Grays runs these Yennora sales regularly, but this one is small enough that the right car could go cheap if the crowd stays thin.

Diesel fans get two solid Land Rover options: a 2017 Velar D180 S and a 2017 Discovery Sport SE. The Velar brings the sleek looks and modern cabin, while the Discovery Sport is the more practical choice with seven seats and proven off-road manners. The Pathfinder ST-L is already sold registered to all buyers, meaning less drama after the sale, and it’s a dependable seven-seater for school runs or trips up the coast.

Check the condition reports before bidding, as these are ex-fleet or trade-in style units with varied histories. Yennora is a straightforward pickup, and with 31 lots there’s room to move on pricing if you’re not fixated on the Euro stuff.

It’s a strong pick if you want a sharp little city hatch without paying showroom prices. The 2022 Yaris Ascent Sport is another low-risk option, offering Toyota reliability in a practical, fuel-sipping package.

  • Braaap MotoE Automatic Motorbike

    Braaap MotoE Automatic Motorbike

Tue 11 Aug 2026 • Yennora, NSW • Grays Online

An electric motorbike is up for bidding right now, a Braaap MotoE Automatic with a current bid sitting at just $309. It’s a used, automatic, battery-powered ride listed through Grays Online, with the lot based in Yennora, NSW. No close date locked in yet, so check the listing for the countdown.

    More detail

This is a straightforward entry-level electric motorcycle, and the Braaap MotoE is a decent pick for short commutes or a first bike. It runs an automatic drivetrain, so no clutch or gear changes, just twist and go. Being used, you’ll want to factor in battery condition and any wear, but at $309 it’s already well below what a new one would set you back.

The listing is part of Grays’ ongoing online auction format, and the lot is located in Yennora. With the close date still to be announced, you’ve got time to suss it out, but don’t expect it to sit at this price for long once bidding heats up. If you’re after a cheap electric runabout, this is worth a look.
