FAQ
What is a liquidation auction?
When a business closes, goes into administration, or is wound up by a receiver, its assets such as stock, equipment, fitout, and vehicles, are sold through auction to pay creditors. Liquidation sales tend to produce strong lots at motivated pricing, since the goal is clearance rather than value maximisation.
Do liquidation lots come with any warranty?
Rarely. Most liquidation sales are strictly as-is, where-is, with no returns. The onus is on the buyer to inspect before bidding. Read the sale conditions carefully as some receivers take a particularly strict line on this.
Are liquidation stock auctions worth it for resellers?
Yes, but due diligence is essential. Verify that stock is clear of security interests via a PPSR check on goods where applicable, and check that the receiver has clear title to sell. Reputable auction houses handle this before consigning, but it’s worth confirming.
Which houses handle the most liquidation work?
Slattery, Lloyds, MGS, and Grays handle significant corporate and commercial liquidation volumes.
Trends & Insights
New insolvency appointments and winding-up orders were issued across multiple states on May 21, signalling a steady pipeline of asset stock entering the secondary market. Notices included IPO Wealth Holdings No 11 Pty Ltd in Victoria inviting proofs of debt, winding-up orders for Maxon Group Pty Ltd in the ACT and Jaz Catering Pty Ltd in South Australia, and the appointment of liquidators for MRW Employees Pty Ltd in Queensland (Insolvency Notices Australia, May 21). This midweek administrative activity suggests further liquidation auctions will surface in the coming weeks as these estates progress through formal realisation.
Major auction houses are actively clearing insolvent stock. Pickles opened an expression of interest auction for Enviratile Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) on May 20, running until June 3 in Queensland (Pickles Auctions, May 20). Lloyds Auctions is currently listing multiple liquidation lots, including assets from a renewable energy company, with closing dates around May 29 (Lloyds Auctions, May 25). Euro Auctions has scheduled a major national equipment sale in Brisbane for May 28-29, featuring hundreds of lots of heavy machinery and vehicles, with potential liquidation consignments contributing to the volume (Euro Auctions, May 25).
Outside the direct liquidation channel, capital city property auction volumes have rebounded sharply, with 2,631 homes scheduled this week compared to just 757 the prior week, and Melbourne leading at 1,208 auctions (Mortgage Professional Australia, May 1). While not a liquidation metric, the broader auction recovery provides context for buyer activity levels. Buyers should watch the Euro Auctions Brisbane sale on May 28-29 for heavy equipment bargains and monitor new insolvency notices for early access to upcoming asset listings.

Rod’s Tips
Slattery, MGS (SA) and Lloyds are the specialists for major commercial liquidations. When a significant business closes, these are the houses most likely to be appointed. Their newsletters and upcoming sale announcements are worth tracking.
Visit the preview as liquidation lots are almost never fully described online. A “workshop equipment” lot that photos suggest is minor might include a $20,000 CNC machine buried in the background. The detail is always in the room.
Arrive early to the preview of in-room sales. Online photos underrepresent quantity and condition. The first hour of previewing before it gets crowded is when you find the genuine opportunities.
Factor in removal time and logistics. Liquidation sales often have strict and short collection windows and sometimes just 24–48 hours. Have your transport arranged before you bid, not after you win.

New Lighting Stock Clearance, Ex-Mine Site Mini Bar Fridges and Maytag Washing Machines & Dryers Online Welshpool Auction
More detail
This is a mixed-bag clearance that suits anyone flipping whitegoods or kitting out a worksite. The headline is the sheer volume of mini bar fridges: multiple pallets of four, mostly Whirlpool units at 120L capacity. They are all listed as used and untested, so factor in some elbow grease and a multimeter, but the potential margin is there if you can shift them in bulk.
Beyond the fridges, the auction includes new lighting stock and Maytag washing machines and dryers. Maytag is a solid commercial-grade brand, so those units could be a good grab for a laundromat operator or someone with a repair licence. The ex-mine site gear suggests these fridges have lived a hard life, but they are simple machines with few moving parts.
Ross’s runs these online auctions regularly from Welshpool, so the pickup process is straightforward. Bidding closes on 3 June 2026. Inspect before you bid, and remember: untested means no guarantees, but the starting prices should reflect that risk.

Near New 3D Printer, Tyres, Rims and General Goods Insolvency Sale
More detail
This Pickles auction in Brisbane is a goldmine for anyone building a 4×4 or running a fabrication shop. The headline item is a Markforged metal 3D printer, still near new, which alone would cost a small fortune retail. It’s paired with a commercial oven and washer package, suggesting this gear came from a workshop that has shut its doors.
The wheel and tyre lots are the real draw for off-road enthusiasts. You’ve got multiple pallets of Method Race Wheels, some with around 12 rims per pallet, plus a batch of Black Rhino Rapid rims. Tyre-wise, there are Toyo Open Country RTs in 35-inch and Maxxis LT options in 275/70R18 and 285/65R18 sizes. That’s serious rubber for a big rig or tow vehicle.
Don’t overlook the smaller lots. A pallet of UHF radios and DC-DC battery chargers is perfect for a camper or work ute build. With 12 lots total and no reserve on most items, this is a pick-and-choose sale for anyone who knows their way around a toolbox. Bidding closes June 3, so get in early.

Joinery and Cabinet Making AUCTIONUnder Instructions from P.A. Lucas & CoIn The Matter of Joinery Eleven Pty Ltd(In Liquidation) Comprehensive Joinery and Cabinet Making Auction Featuring Edge Banding
More detail
This liquidation auction from Hymans covers a full fit-out for a commercial joinery shop. The standout is the Homag edge banding gear, a core piece for high-volume cabinet production. Also on offer are a Weeke CNC machining centre for precision routing and drilling, plus Altendorf and SCM panel saws for sheet stock breakdown.
Supporting equipment includes dust extraction units, clamps, and hand-held power tools. There are also vehicles and trucks listed, likely for deliveries and site work. The auction runs under instructions from P.A. Lucas & Co, acting for Joinery Eleven Pty Ltd in liquidation.
Buyers should factor in freight from Queensland. Given the specialised nature of the gear, this auction suits cabinet makers, shop fitters, or anyone setting up a joinery workshop on a budget. Check the close date on the Hymans site as it is yet to be confirmed.

Manufacturing & Transport Liquidation
More detail
This is a straight-up business clearance, not a rummage sale. The auction house has been running these since 1980, so they know how to move commercial gear fast. If you need lathes, milling machines, compressors or welding plant, this is your stop.
On the transport side, expect utes, trucks and trailers in varying condition, likely sold as-is. There will also be racking, tooling, office furniture and consumables from the factory floor. Buyers should inspect beforehand, no warranties here.
Bidding closes 10 June 2026. Register early for a bidder number. Collection will be strict, so bring your own transport and labour.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (“EOI”) Under Instructions from Andre Lakomy of AL Restructuring In The Matter of Flourish Pharmaceuticals Australia Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) SALE OF BUSINESS INCLUDING ASSET L
More detail
This is an expressions of interest sale for the entire business of Flourish Pharmaceuticals Australia, currently in liquidation. Hymans is handling the disposal under instructions from the liquidator, Andre Lakomy of AL Restructuring. The sale covers all tangible and intangible assets, meaning a buyer could step into a fully equipped pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.
The asset base includes production machinery, laboratory instruments, and the company’s intellectual property. Given the specialised nature of pharmaceutical manufacturing, this is a targeted opportunity for industry buyers or investors looking to acquire an established setup without the lead time of building from scratch. There is no fixed close date listed yet, so interested parties should register with Hymans to receive updates and submit their interest.
Buyers should note this is not a piecemeal equipment auction. The structure suggests a single buyer or consortium will take the whole business. If you are in the pharmaceutical or contract manufacturing space, this is worth a close look.
