Kimseed Australia Closing Down Sale Online Offsite Auction
A closing-down sale puts a heap of late-model metalworking gear on the block in Wangara, with the auctioneer handling it online. The standout is a 2023 Hafco Metalmaster AL-1000D horizontal lathe with a SW400 controller, plus a 2024 BM-30A turret milling machine and a 45-tonne hydraulic press.
-
Trident Plastics Liquidation
A plastics manufacturing plant is being cleared out in Kilkenny SA, with the full production setup going to the highest bidders. Auctioneer mgs is handling the liquidation, and the lot list is packed with the sort of industrial gear that doesn’t pop up every week.
-
Civil Construction Liquidation – Excavators, Tippers, Trucks, Trailers, Utes & Attachments
A full lineup of civil construction gear is heading to auction with Pickles in Sydney, NSW. Look for Hitachi and Kobelco excavators, Isuzu and Hino tippers, plus a range of trailers, utes, and attachments.
FAQ
What is a liquidation auction?
When a business closes, goes into administration, or is wound up by a receiver, its assets such as stock, equipment, fitout, and vehicles, are sold through auction to pay creditors. Liquidation sales tend to produce strong lots at motivated pricing, since the goal is clearance rather than value maximisation.
Do liquidation lots come with any warranty?
Rarely. Most liquidation sales are strictly as-is, where-is, with no returns. The onus is on the buyer to inspect before bidding. Read the sale conditions carefully as some receivers take a particularly strict line on this.
Are liquidation stock auctions worth it for resellers?
Yes, but due diligence is essential. Verify that stock is clear of security interests via a PPSR check on goods where applicable, and check that the receiver has clear title to sell. Reputable auction houses handle this before consigning, but it’s worth confirming.
Which houses handle the most liquidation work?
Slattery, Lloyds, MGS, and Grays handle significant corporate and commercial liquidation volumes.
Trends & Insights
Liquidation activity this week is firmly anchored in production and industrial assets. Slattery Auctions is running a final clearance of 13 unused items from an Adelaide furniture production line, a direct result of a business winding down its manufacturing operations (Slattery Auctions Facebook, Aug 11). For buyers, this represents a rare chance to secure brand-new industrial equipment at forced-sale pricing, though the window is tight with bidding already live.
Heavy equipment and fleet disposals are dominating the calendar. Slattery’s Canberra August Truck and Machinery Auction, closing 7pm AEST on August 13, is the key event for transport and earthmoving gear in the ACT region (Slattery Auctions, Aug 11). Further north, a Western Queensland auction is clearing trucks, utes, and excavators sourced from gas field operations, a signal that resource sector contractors are still trimming surplus assets (Instagram post, Aug 5). These sales are worth monitoring for operators needing reliable workhorses without dealer premiums.
Consumer goods and general surplus remain a steady undercurrent. Auction Warehouse is running its weekly Sunday buy-it-now and auction events for new washers, dryers, fridges, and sofas sourced from retailers and liquidators, a dependable channel for overstock appliances (Auction Warehouse, Aug 16). Meanwhile, AuSurplus Auction held a live stream surplus sale on August 11 covering mixed goods and equipment, catering to resellers chasing quick turnovers (AuSurplus Auction Facebook, Aug 11). Allbids continues to process insolvency and government surplus lots, with cars, electronics, and collectables closing across mid-August (Allbids, Aug 16).
Buyers should watch the Canberra truck auction close on August 13 and any last-minute additions to the Adelaide furniture liquidation, as final-hour bidding often dictates the best value.

Rod’s Tips
Slattery, MGS (SA) and Lloyds are the specialists for major commercial liquidations. When a significant business closes, these are the houses most likely to be appointed. Their newsletters and upcoming sale announcements are worth tracking.
Visit the preview as liquidation lots are almost never fully described online. A “workshop equipment” lot that photos suggest is minor might include a $20,000 CNC machine buried in the background. The detail is always in the room.
Arrive early to the preview of in-room sales. Online photos underrepresent quantity and condition. The first hour of previewing before it gets crowded is when you find the genuine opportunities.
Factor in removal time and logistics. Liquidation sales often have strict and short collection windows and sometimes just 24–48 hours. Have your transport arranged before you bid, not after you win.

Trident Plastics Liquidation
More detail
This is a full plant wind-down, not a tidy-up of odds and ends. The core of the sale is the processing and fabrication equipment, the kind of heavy-duty stuff that costs serious money new. Expect to see extrusion lines, injection moulding machines, and the associated tooling and dies, along with the ancillary gear like hoppers, conveyors, and cooling systems that make a shop floor run.
Beyond the big ticket items, there’s the usual mountain of support equipment that comes out of any factory closure: compressors, workshop tools, racking, and materials handling gear. If you’re in the plastics game, or you’re a scrappy operator looking to expand capacity without paying retail, this is worth a close look. The auction closes on 18 August 2026, and with mgs running it, you can expect a straightforward process. Get your inspections done early and bid with a plan.

Civil Construction Liquidation – Excavators, Tippers, Trucks, Trailers, Utes & Attachments
More detail
This liquidation covers a solid spread of plant and trucks for anyone in earthmoving or haulage. The excavator list includes a Hitachi ZX200 and a Kobelco SK200, both popular on local sites. For transport, there are Isuzu FTR and FVY tippers, a Hino 700, and several box trailers and flatbed trailers.
Utes in the mix include Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger models, handy as site runners. Attachments such as buckets, grabs, and rippers are also on offer. With the close date set for 18 August 2026, there is time to inspect and plan. Check the Pickles site for the full lot list and viewing details.

SOLD – Major Liquidators’ Formwork Auction – 4,000m²+ Dayton Superior DeckFast Shoring System
More detail
This is a straight liquidation sale from a major contractor, offering one single lot covering the entire DeckFast system. You are getting the complete modular shoring gear: adjustable steel props, stringers, joists, and all the connecting hardware needed to support elevated concrete slabs. Dayton Superior is a well-known brand in the industry, so you can expect the gear to meet standard engineering specs.
For any builder or formwork specialist, this is a chance to pick up a large volume of system components in one hit. Buying a used system of this scale new would cost a fortune. Check the photos carefully for condition and component counts. The close date is still to be announced, so register with liquidassets now to get the notification.

Kimseed Australia Closing Down Sale Online Offsite Auction
More detail
This is a proper workshop clearance, not a pile of junk. The lathe is the headline act: 356×1000 capacity, comes with 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, chuck plates, a steady rest, and a quantity of spindles and tool holders. It’s three-phase, hard-wired, and listed as operational but untested, so factor in a licensed electrician for disconnection and your own lifting gear for removal.
The milling side is covered by the 2024 Hafco Metalmaster BM-30A turret mill with a YHSINO controller, machine vice and holder set, running off a 240V-15A plug. There’s also a Vertex super indexing spacer with a 3-jaw chuck, and a bundle with an 18-piece collet set, a 3-jaw spindle chuck, and a TM F45SE12 milling head. Dust extraction is sorted with a Sheppach HD12 on a trolley, a Hafco CDS-2/3 cyclone separator, and a Hafco DC-2, all fairly recent.
Don’t overlook the smaller stuff: a Ryobi 30L wet/dry vacuum, a five-drawer Hafco tool cupboard workbench with drill bits and misc gear inside, four mobile welding screens, and a bundle of three plastic jerry cans (with some fuel) plus a tagged 9kg fire extinguisher. Everything is untested unless noted, so bid accordingly. Removal is on you, and the press needs a manual touch

Electrical Contractors Liquidation Online Welshpool Auction
More detail
The headline lot is a Clark GPM25L gas forklift with a 2500kg capacity and 4560 hours on the clock. It shows some marks, and the gas bottle isn’t included, so factor that into your bid. For power, there’s a Blue Diamond Genesys diesel generator rated at 6/6.5 KVA with 240V output, though the hours are unsighted and it comes with spare knobs. There’s also a separate valve generator on a pallet, untested and showing some rust.
Air conditioning gear is worth a look, with two Hisense indoor units and one outdoor split unit, all possibly unused and boxed. A Mitsubishi indoor unit, also possibly unused, rounds out the climate control lots. If you’re after basic materials, there’s a pallet of assorted cables in various gauges, plus around 12 boxes of electrical fittings, including HPM, Sal, and Vent-Air items.
For the structural side, there’s a Hearthull steel component set with a 4000kg per pair working load limit, though it shows some rust and may be incomplete. A heavy-duty tow hitch with a 50mm ball is also listed. Smaller items include a 3.7m Gorilla ladder, two yellow toolboxes, and four LV rescue kits in yellow vinyl bags, though the kits may be incomplete. The panel wall lift loader is listed as incomplete, so treat that one as a parts or scrap proposition. Bidding closes on 26 August.

Mining Liquidation – Crushers, Loaders, Grader, Franna Crane, Light Commercials
More detail
This is a full plant dispersal from a mining operation. The standout is the Franna crane, a mobile unit built for tight sites. Crushers include jaw and cone models, likely from major OEMs. Loaders range from mid-size to production class, with a grader for haul road maintenance.
Light commercials cover utes and service trucks, useful for site support or resale. Everything is sold as-is, so inspect before bidding. The close date is 29 July 2026, giving you time to arrange a site visit in Rockhampton.

Liquidation – Transport Sale
More detail
This is a straight fleet reduction, not a patch-up job. The 2021 Actros is the pick of the bunch for line-haul work, with the 2018 model a solid second option if you want the same platform for less outlay. Both are 6×4 configuration, so they’re set up for heavy work, not suburban runs.
The Kenworth T409SAR with the Hercules HEDT-4 dog trailer is a ready-made combo for carting dirt, gravel, or demolition material. It’s a 2015 build, so check the service history, but the tipper and trailer pairing means you can start earning straight away. The 2025 Isuzu NPR 45-155 Tradepack is the odd one out, but it’s a nearly-new tray truck that’s ideal for local deliveries or trades work, and it’s still under factory warranty.
Grays has this listed as a liquidation, so expect the lots to move at realistic wholesale rates. The close date is yet to be confirmed, so register your interest early and watch for the timer to be set. All four items are spread across Queensland locations, so factor in transport costs before you bid.
