Inside This Week’s Restaurant Equipment Auction Market – 6 Upcoming Sales inc Commercial Cooking, Refrigeration & Bar Gear
This week we list 6 restaurant and catering equipment auctions across Australia. Including commercial kitchens, café fit-outs, food service equipment, and hospitality clearances.
FAQ
Where does restaurant auction equipment come from?
Primarily business closures including restaurants, cafés, and catering companies that have wound up. Refurbishment projects, kitchen upgrades, and liquidations of food service distributors also contribute significant stock.
What equipment typically comes up?
Commercial ovens, fryers, grills, dishwashers, refrigeration, coffee machines, display cabinets, POS systems, benching, and racking. Complete kitchen fit-outs sometimes sell as a package; other times individual pieces are lotted separately.
Is secondhand commercial kitchen equipment worth buying?
Usually yes, commercial-grade equipment is built for heavy use and lasts far longer than domestic equivalents. A well-maintained commercial oven or fridge bought at a fraction of new cost is a sound investment for a small food business.
What should I check before bidding?
Test operation if possible during the inspection period. But in most cases it is not possible due tothe need for power or gas etc.
Trends & Insights
Weekly auction activity across Australian catering equipment platforms remains consistent, with Allbids hosting its regular Monday closing sales featuring commercial refrigerators, coffee machines, dishwashers, and cooktops from sellers in multiple states (Allbids, Jun 22). Lloyds Auctions continues to run dedicated online hospitality sales, offering ovens, deep fryers, benchtops, and full restaurant fit-outs sourced from hospitality providers nationwide (Lloyds Auctions, Jun 19).
Queensland buyers saw a targeted opportunity this week as Slattery Auctions promoted a Toowoomba catering and hospitality equipment sale with bidding open for commercial kitchen and audio equipment lots (Slattery Auctions, Jun 15). Meanwhile, Grays continues to list restaurant equipment under the Slattery umbrella, with recent lots including bowls, trays, and stainless steel catering supplies from various vendors (Grays, Jun 20).
For operators planning ahead, Breen Auction Group schedules its commercial catering equipment auctions four times annually on Thursdays, focusing on second-hand kitchen appliances and takeaway gear for the hospitality sector (Breen Auction Group). This recurring cadence offers a predictable procurement window for those seeking to time their purchases around business fit outs or replacements.
Watch for increased lot volume in the coming week as end of financial year stock clearances typically hit auction platforms, particularly in refrigeration and stainless steel benchware categories.

Rod’s Tips
Grays handles the most consistent volume of hospitality equipment in Australia. Their rolling online sales include single items and complete kitchen packages. Set up a saved search for your equipment categories to catch new lots as they list.
Complete café fit-outs can go for dramatically less than replacement cost. When a café closes, the operator often needs a quick exit. Buying the complete fit-out rather than individual pieces can deliver significant savings if you have a venue to fit it out.
Coffee machine lots need careful assessment. A commercial espresso machine is expensive to service. Check the brand’s service network before bidding — some imported machines have no local support. A cheap machine with no parts availability is an expensive paperweight.
Bring your own measurements. Commercial benching, fridges, and rack systems are site-specific. Know your kitchen dimensions before the auction — equipment that won’t fit is worth nothing to you regardless of price.
Freight costs. Don’t be afraid to look out of state by first checking in on couriers for an estimate. I purchased a commercial espresso machine and even with the freight from ACT to VIC is was a great deal landed at my doorstep. Be sure to get quotes from couriers with lift-gates to load and unload heavy goods.

Office Furniture, Tambour Cabinets & Kitchen Equipment Online Welshpool Auction
More detail
This ross auction from Welshpool has a solid mix for anyone fitting out a workspace or commercial kitchen. The standout is the run of steel tambour cabinets: nine units in total, mostly 900mm wide, with a mix of keyed and unkeyed doors. They come strapped on pallets, ready to load.
Alongside the cabinets are roughly 280 Pierlite LED panel lights, 1200mm x 300mm, stacked across five pallets. They are listed as untested, so budget for checking them. Also on offer: two white steel planter boxes with storage cupboards underneath, and a box of Eagle Lighting drivers.
Buyers should note this is a timed online auction closing 22 June 2026. Inspection is likely by appointment. Given the volume of cabinets and lights, a ute or trailer will be essential. The auctioneer handles goods from WA Police forfeitures and business closures, so condition varies.

Restaurant & Bar Equipment & Furniture
More detail
This Lloyds auction is a straight-up feed for anyone kitting out a cafe, pub, or commercial kitchen. The lot list leans heavy on gas cooktops and deep fryers, with a Thor 6-burner unit and a Gluis commercial deep fryer with six frying vats standing out for high-volume cooking. The commercial upright display fridge and the Washtech dishwasher are the sort of gear that saves you thousands second-hand.
Don’t overlook the furniture side. Three separate lots of bar stools, mostly black-stained timber, suggest a fit-out clearance. With the close date set for June 2026, you’ve got time to inspect, but the best deals go to those who register early and bid tight. No reserve games here, just straight online bidding.

Unreserved Warehouse & Catering Clearance
More detail
This is an unreserved clearance, so everything must go. The lot list is heavy on commercial catering and industrial gear, with the LG dryer being the standout home appliance. The real volume here is in the wall mount toilet brush and holder pallets, which suggests a hospitality or facility management stockpile being liquidated.
Buyers should inspect the condition of the dryer and the quantity of the brush pallets. With 39 lots and no reserve, competitive bidding is likely on the bulk items. If you need fit-out supplies or laundry equipment, this is a straight-up warehouse dump worth a look.
