FAQ
What types of machinery come up at auction?
Excavators, loaders, graders, forklifts, cranes, generators, compressors, and a broad range of industrial and manufacturing plant. Sources include project completions, business liquidations, and government disposals.
Should I get a pre-purchase inspection?
Absolutely — especially for anything with an engine. Most auction houses will allow an inspector on site during the viewing period. A $300–$500 inspection can save you from a six-figure mistake.
What buyer’s premium applies to machinery?
Typically 10–18% plus GST. Some houses have a sliding scale that reduces the percentage on higher hammer prices.
How do I arrange transport for large plant?
Most buyers arrange their own. Low-loader hire is the standard option for tracked plant. Get quotes from local machinery movers before the auction so you know your landed cost before you bid.
Trends & Insights
The post-EOFY machinery auction cycle is in full swing with multiple major events opening this week. AuctionsPlus has launched several multi-vendor sales starting 6 July including Colnarco and Hume, featuring between 156 and 307 lots of farm machinery, earthmoving, and construction equipment across NSW and VIC locations (AuctionsPlus, Jul 6). Simultaneously, Australian Frontline Machinery has its July 2026 ex-military equipment auction live from 2 to 8 July, with physical inspections scheduled for 6 to 7 July in NSW, offering industrial gear and trailers (Australian Frontline Machinery, Jul 2).
Realised prices from early July clearing sales confirm solid demand for high horsepower gear. MRE Auctions reported a 1999 John Deere 9200 tractor sold for $66,000, while a Flexi Coil seeder cleared at $44,000, with various headers and tractors trading between $5,000 and $66,000 (MRE Auctions, Jul 1). These results suggest that well maintained late model plant is holding value, though lower end lots are seeing more varied outcomes. Ritchie Bros also wrapped up its National Unreserved Auction from 23 to 25 June, with dozers, graders, mini excavators, and agricultural machinery selling across multiple Australian locations without reserve (Ritchie Bros, Jun 29).
Looking ahead, supply is set to remain robust. Benabilla Auctions has its July Agriculture, Transport & Earthmoving event scheduled for bidding from 31 July through 4 August, featuring assets Australia wide via the Bidsonline platform (Benabilla Auctions, Jul 3). With multiple clearing sales and ex military gear still open for bidding, buyers should watch for late bidding action on high hour earthmoving gear and mid sized tractors as vendors adjust reserves to match current market appetite.

Rod’s Tips
Pickles, Manheim, Ritchie Bros, SBA (WA), and Slattery run the best dedicated plant auctions in Australia. Their purpose-built sales attract a national buyer pool and tend to produce accurate market pricing, good for benchmarking what you should pay.
Hours are everything on earthmoving equipment. A low-hours machine in rough external condition is often a better buy than a polished-up high-timer. You could also ask for the ECM readout on anything with a computer.
End-of-project mining disposals are often the best value. When a mine or construction project wraps, the whole fleet goes and the priority is clearance speed, not maximum price. Watch Pickles’ and Slattery’s project sale announcements.
Factor in all costs before your maximum bid. Transport, servicing, registration (if applicable), and any compliance costs can add 20–40% to the hammer price. Know your total cost before the auction starts.

Earthmoving & Commercial Light Vehicle Tyres Online Welshpool Auction
More detail
This is a straight-up tyre auction for operators who chew through rubber. Ross’s is running it online from their Welshpool complex, and the focus is on earthmoving gear: think loader and grader tyres, likely in common off-road sizes. There’s also a solid run of commercial light vehicle tyres, which covers anything from a HiAce to a single-cab ute.
If you run plant equipment, this is where you stock the shed without paying retail. The commercial side suits tradies or fleet managers topping up on common fitments. No street addresses needed, just head to the Orrong Road depot for pickup. The auction closes 7 July, so check the lot list for specific brands and tread depths.
-

Dewatering Trailers, Generator Trailers, Pump Trailers & Lighting Towers Online Welshpool Auction
More detail
Ross’s has put together a solid collection of industrial trailers and site equipment for this online sale. The tri-axle A-trailer is the standout for anyone moving heavy plant, while the dewatering trailers suit civil or mining sites needing water management. Generator trailers and lighting towers round out the lot list, making this a one-stop shop for remote job site essentials.
Buyers should inspect the gear in person at the Welshpool complex before bidding closes on 7 July 2026. Ross’s runs these sales regularly, so the condition and presentation are usually reliable. If you need site support equipment without paying retail, this is a practical way to pick it up.
-

Epiroc Pit Viper Drill, Epiroc DML Drill, Epiroc D65 Drills, Hitachi 890LCH Excavator & Caterpillar 994H Loader Online Offsite Auction
More detail
This is a straight-from-site clearance of major open-pit drilling and loading equipment. The Epiroc Pit Viper is a top-hammer blasthole drill built for high-production mining, while the DML and D65 models are rugged production drills suited to hard rock. The Hitachi 890LCH is a large excavator commonly paired with ultra-class loaders like the Caterpillar 994H, which is a 300-tonne behemoth. All six lots are offered as-is, where-is, with no reserve listed. Buyers should factor in transport from the Boddington site, about 130 km southeast of Perth. Ross’s runs regular online auctions from Perth, often handling police forfeitures and machinery clearances, so this is a rare chance for a mining contractor or plant operator to pick up a matched set of heavy gear without the usual dealer chain.
-

Mining & Commercial Light Vehicles, Trucks, Plant and Machinery Traditional Karratha Auction
More detail
Ross runs regular auctions from Perth, but this one is staged out of the Karratha Showroom on Bedrock Turn. It mixes WA Police forfeited items with business closure stock and machinery, so the condition and history will vary.
Standout lots include 4×4 utes, tipper trucks, and loader or excavator plant gear. If you work in mining or civil construction, this is a direct line to fleet-ready equipment without the retail price tag. The close date is still to be confirmed, so check the listing for updates.
-

Franna AT-20 Mobile Cranes, Grove GMK5130 Crane, Cateprillar 982M & 988K Loaders, Sumitomo SH330 Excavator, Komatsu Water Truck & Rail Shunters Online Offsite Clearance Auction
More detail
Ross’s is clearing a serious yard at 33 Gavranich Way in Wangara, and the gear is heavy. The Franna AT-20 is a popular pick for tight sites with its 20-tonne capacity and pick-and-carry ability. The Grove GMK5130 is a five-axle all-terrain crane with a 130-tonne lift, built for big reach and road travel.
On the loading side, the Caterpillar 982M is a mid-size wheel loader with a 5.5 cubic metre bucket, good for production work. The 988K is a larger beast with a 7.6 cubic metre bucket and a 580 horsepower engine, suited to quarry or stockpile duties. The Sumitomo SH330 excavator is a 33-tonne unit with a 1.5 cubic metre bucket, common on civil jobs. The Komatsu water truck is a support rig for dust suppression on site, and the rail shunters are specialist gear for moving rolling stock. This is a concentrated sale for anyone in civil, mining, or heavy haulage.
-
Unreserved Ex-Hire Excavation & Construction Equipment – WA
More detail
This is a straight unreserved sale of hire fleet equipment, so everything must go. The Kanga TK 216 is a compact loader popular on tight sites, and the trailers cover different hauling needs: the tandem for lighter plant, the triaxle for heavier loads, plus a 2014 single plant trailer for smaller gear.
Buyers should check the condition reports and arrange inspection if possible, as ex-hire gear can show wear. With only eight lots, the sale is tight and focused. No reserve means the highest bidder wins each item, so decide your limit before the close date is announced.
-

Sale #3038 – Earthmoving & More
More detail
This sbauction sale at Midland WA covers a solid spread of plant equipment for operators and contractors. Beyond the main loaders and excavators, there’s a 2016 Caterpillar 420F2 backhoe loader, a 2017 Case 721F wheel loader, and a 2012 Hitachi ZX70-5 excavator. Support gear includes a 2014 Isuzu NPS 300 tray truck, a 2015 Toyota HiAce van, and a 2014 Ford Ranger XLT dual cab.
Buyers should note the sale includes a 2016 Kobelco SK210-10 excavator and a 2015 JCB 3CX backhoe. For site prep, there’s a 2015 Caterpillar CS54B vibratory roller and a 2014 Hamm HD12VV tandem roller. The lot list also shows a 2015 Komatsu WA270 wheel loader and a 2016 Hitachi ZX135US-5 excavator. All items appear to be offered without reserve, so check the inspection times if you want to kick the tyres before bidding closes on 5 August 2026.

Sale #1190 – Small Construction Equipment
More detail
This is a regular unreserved sale from sbauction, so everything is selling to the highest bidder with no reserve price holding things back. That makes it a solid hunting ground for tradies, small builders, and anyone looking to pick up gear for a fair price.
The lot list points to a mix of small construction equipment, light vehicles, and industrial bits and pieces. If you need a ute, a trailer, or a compact machine to get a job done, this is the sort of auction where you can snag something without fighting dealer markups. The Midland location means easy access for Perth buyers and regional operators alike.
Check the close date and get your bids in early. With no reserves, the bargains will go to whoever is ready to move.
-

Sale #7017 – Pilbara Branch Earthmoving, Transport & Ex Mine Vehicle Auction
More detail
This is a straight-up unreserved sale, so everything from the Pilbara branch needs a new home. The ex-mine vehicles are the headline grabbers: expect heavy-use gear that still has life left for the right buyer. The DAF truck is a standout for transport operators, while the Toyota LandCruisers will suit anyone needing a tough 4WD for site work or farm access.
The plant-equipment section includes dozers and loaders from CAT and Komatsu, plus support gear like generators and workshop tools. If you’re after mining-spec machinery without the new price tag, this is the one to watch. Check the photos carefully for service history and wear, as these units have worked hard. Bidding closes 17 June.
-

Sale #5032 – Agricultural Equipment Sale
More detail
This unreserved sale from sbauction in Midland WA covers more than just farm gear. The lot list includes a mix of utes, trucks, and four-wheel drives, plus compressors, generators, and welding plant. There are also trailers, forklifts, and earthmoving attachments worth a look.
Buyers should check the condition reports closely, as items are sold as-is. The auction runs until 4 June 2026, so there is time to inspect before bidding. If you need a work ute or a decent tractor for a rural property, this is one to watch.

Trucks, Buses, Caravans, Boats & Machinery – Fastsalvage
More detail
The Isuzu FTR 900 is a workhorse with a tray body, ideal for local deliveries or site work. The Volvo B7R bus, now two decades old, could suit a conversion project or parts recovery. Both vehicles come from ex-fleet or statutory sources, so expect fair wear and tear.
Autorola handles high-volume disposals, meaning these are no-frills sales. Check the photos and condition reports closely before bidding. The close date is 8 July 2026, so there is time to inspect if you are after a cheap truck or a bus for a camper build.

National Online Ex-Military Earthmoving and Mobile Plant
More detail
These machines have come out of military service, which often means regular maintenance and lower hours than civilian gear. The JCB 535.95 units are versatile telescopic handlers with a 3.5-tonne lift capacity, useful on farms, construction sites, or industrial yards. The 2005 Manitou MHT7140 is a heavier rotary telehandler built for rough terrain, offering higher lift heights and greater stability.
All lots are listed across various national locations, so check the specific pickup point before bidding. With only three items, this is a tight sale aimed at buyers who need a single solid machine rather than a bulk lot. Bidding closes on 7 July 2026.

FLEET – Corporate Truck, Bus, Plant & Machinery
More detail
This is a tight, targeted sale for anyone needing heavy gear from a single corporate source. The four lots cover the bread and butter of fleet disposal: a 2019 Isuzu FTR900 tray truck with a manual gearbox, a 2016 Volvo B7R bus suited for school or charter work, a 2017 Hitachi ZX130-5B excavator, and a 2015 Caterpillar 320D2 excavator. All are ex-fleet units, which typically means maintained to a schedule rather than patched up for retail.
Buyers should check the service history and condition reports before bidding. Autorola runs these sales nationally, so freight costs will vary depending on your location. The close date is 9 July 2026, giving you time to inspect or arrange a third-party check. If you need a reliable truck, bus, or digger without the retail premium, this is a clean, no-nonsense option.
-
UNUSED Rippa R319 Excavators
More detail
These are zero-hour machines, straight from the crate. The Rippa R319 is a compact excavator suited to site prep, trenching, and landscaping work. With three identical units on offer, buyers can bid on one or all of them, potentially securing a fleet at a single auction.
The close date is 14 July 2026, giving plenty of time to inspect or ask questions through Lloyds. Given they are unused, condition is as-new, and the auction format means pricing is driven by demand, not a dealer’s list price. If you need a reliable digger without the depreciation hit, this is worth a serious look.
-
UNUSED Machinery, Buildings, Generators & More!
More detail
This sale is stacked with zero-hour plant equipment, most of it still in factory condition. The KOBOLT KX11 mini excavator comes with multiple attachments, while the K926 and K938 wheel loaders are both unused 2025 models. For site cleanup, there are two Kobolt zero turn mowers, one 50-inch and one 62-inch deck.
The rotating hydraulic dumper and the 25 kVA generator on trailer are both 2026 builds, meaning they are effectively new old stock. Buyers should note the close date of 15 July 2026, which gives time to inspect the gear if possible. Lloyds runs multi-category auctions, so you might find vehicles or collectables mixed in, but the focus here is clearly on plant and equipment for tradies, farmers, or contractors looking to skip the dealership queue.
-
UNRESERVED ADELAIDE Factory Direct – Machinery, Containers & Equipment
More detail
This is a straight-up unreserved clearance of surplus stock, with over a dozen lots all listed as factory direct. The big draw is the unused gear: 2026 model LANDHERO and WOLVERINE skid steer loaders, plus attachments like brush cutters and tillers. If you need a compact loader for a landscaping or construction job, these are as fresh as they come.
The ZHW 40ft high cube multi-door container adds storage or site office potential. With no reserve on any lot, prices should reflect wholesale, not retail. Check the listing for condition notes and pickup details. Bidding closes July 15, 2026.
-
Civil, Transport & Machinery – Nationwide
More detail
The standout lots here are the heavy plant: think Caterpillar and Komatsu excavators, Volvo articulated dump trucks, and Hitachi graders. For the smaller operator, there’s a solid spread of utes, trailers, and workshop tools. Don’t overlook the non-industrial side either. Lloyds has thrown in jewellery lots with gold and diamonds, plus collectables that often slip through at sharp prices.
Buyers should note this is a true nationwide event, so pick-up logistics vary by lot. Check individual listings for location and condition reports. The closing date is fixed, but items end in staggered blocks, so plan your bids around the vehicle and plant categories if that’s your focus. No reserve on many lots, which keeps the starting bids honest.
-

NSW/ACT Small Plant & Machinery, Earthmoving Attachments & Trailers (Online)
More detail
This online auction covers a broad spread of gear for civil contractors, demolition crews, and transport operators. The 1000mm and 430mm general purpose buckets suit excavator owners looking to swap out worn steel, while the Embrey concrete pulveriser offers a dedicated attachment for breaking down slabs and structures without hiring a second machine.
Trailers are a strong category here. The 2017 National Trailers & Campers unit and the 2009 Traymark both appear, along with the 2020 Enforcer FG35T-LHP-NMA, which is a tilt-tray model built for moving small plant. The Billy Goat debris loader is skid mounted and handy for clearing sites fast. Bidders should check the Optraffic and Data Signs lots if they need traffic control gear for upcoming jobs.
All items are spread across multiple locations in NSW and ACT, so factor in collection logistics before bidding. Lots close on 20 July 2026.
-

NSW/ACT Workshop Machinery, Small Tooling, & Groundcare Equipment (Online)
More detail
The standout lot here is the mezzanine with stairway, guard rails, and timber floor sheet supports plus horizontal beams. That’s a serious piece of infrastructure for anyone expanding factory or shed space. Also worth a look: the TONY galvanised angle conveyor and the pallet of assorted ducting bends and clips, which point to this being a partial workshop strip-out.
There are two pallets of assorted motors, plus a steel toolbox, an EPSON A4 colour printer/copier/scanner, and assorted hose tubing. A site building is also listed, though details are sparse. With 12 lots and a close date of 20 July 2026, this is a mixed bag best suited to buyers who can inspect and collect from various NSW and ACT locations.

Transport & Earthmoving Multi Vendor Auction
More detail
This multi-vendor sale covers a practical spread of gear for operators and contractors. The Scania R470 is a serious workhorse for freight work, while the DAF CF 6×4 prime mover suits heavy haulage. The Wacker Neuson dumper is a solid pick for site work, and the Adiatek walk-behind scrubber adds a cleaning option for workshops or depots.
With only nine lots listed, this is a tight, targeted auction. Buyers should inspect each item closely as condition will vary across vendors. The close date is still to be confirmed, so check the listing regularly for the deadline.
-
Unreserved Ex-Hire Excavation & Construction Equipment – VIC
More detail
This is an unreserved clearance of ex-hire plant equipment, meaning everything must sell to the highest bidder. The Kubota KX018-4 mini excavator is a solid unit for tight access jobs, and it’s paired with a plant trailer in a separate lot. For access work, the 2019 Nifty 120TPE knuckle boom gives you 12 metres of reach with a compact footprint, while the 2016 JLG 520AJ offers a 16-metre working height and a 227 kg platform capacity.
All gear comes from a single hire fleet, so service history is likely consistent across the board. Buyers should inspect on site before bidding to confirm condition and hours. No reserve prices apply, so the market sets the final figure on each lot.
-

Gollant — Picture Framing And Mounting Plant And Equipment
More detail
This is a full workshop clearance for anyone in the framing trade. Beyond the cutters and matting gear, the lot list shows a vacuum press, underpinners, and a Fletcher wall mount system. There are also commercial-grade workbenches and storage units for glass and board.
The Valiani CMC alone is a serious piece of kit for automated mat cutting. If you are setting up a new shop or upgrading from manual tools, this sale has the backbone gear. Keep an eye on the close date as it is yet to be confirmed, and expect competition from other tradies. Melbourne pickup only.
-

Construction Equipment & Power Tools- Vic
More detail
This 51-lot auction is squarely aimed at builders, site supervisors, and anyone kitting out a worksite. The standout structural gear is a run of Acrow V Shore 1830mm frames, essential for temporary shoring and propping on commercial or residential jobs.
The power tool pallet is the wildcard. It is listed as assorted, which typically means a mix of drills, grinders, saws, or demolition gear from various brands. You will need to inspect or read the individual lot notes to know exactly what is in there. The metal bins are straightforward: good for site storage or materials handling.
Check the close date on the Grays listing. With 51 lots, bidding will move quickly in the final minutes. The gear is located in Yarraville, so factor in pickup logistics before you bid.

The paint and coating section is the standout here. You’ll find 2-pac finishes, enamels, kerosene, dark oxide, and platinum clear along with concrete paint and etch primers. That’s a solid haul for anyone respraying gear or doing industrial touch-ups.
Beyond the paints, there’s concrete coatings, bird netting, and marine-grade product from Hi-Chem. The hardware side brings in tapware and buckets. With the close date still to be confirmed, check the listing regularly for the update. This is a broad stock clearance, so the mix is worth a browse if you need raw materials for jobs rather than finished goods.

Buses, Coaches & Mini Buses, Workshop Machinery & Equipment
More detail
This July sale from the long-running Adelaide outfit covers two distinct areas. The passenger vehicle fleet includes full-size coaches and smaller minibuses, suitable for operators looking to expand or replace stock. On the workshop side, expect industrial-grade gear: metalworking lathes, arc and MIG welders, plus a heavy-duty vehicle hoist for mechanical work.
Mgs has been running commercial, agricultural, and deceased estate sales out of Kilkenny since 1980, so the gear here is sourced from a mix of trade and private vendors. Inspection times are listed on the auction page. The closing date is July 14, 2026.
-

Supermarket Plant & Equipment
More detail
This is a straight-up clearance of a supermarket’s guts, so you’re looking at the kind of gear that costs a fortune new but goes for cents on the dollar here. The lot list includes multiple refrigerated display cabinets, upright freezer units, and a three-phase compressor setup for the coolroom. There are also checkout counters, barcode scanners, and a full POS system with monitors.
For the back-of-house, MGS has listed commercial kitchen equipment: a six-burner gas stove, deep fryers, a meat slicer, and industrial shelving. Everything is listed as used but operational, so factor in a site inspection before bidding. The auction closes on July 16, so get down to Kilkenny SA to eyeball the gear if you’re serious about kitting out a shop or cafe on a budget.
-
Unreserved Ex-Hire Excavation & Construction Equipment – SA
More detail
This is an unreserved clearance of hire fleet equipment, so everything is selling to the highest bidder regardless of price. The Bobcat S590 is a popular pick for earthmoving and site prep, while the Ammann trench roller is built for compaction work in tight trenches. The Kubota L4600 comes with a slasher already attached, making it ready for paddock maintenance straight away.
The Almac Athena 850HE scissor lift is a tracked unit with a working height of around 8.5 metres, useful for indoor or outdoor elevated work on softer ground. Given these are ex-hire machines, expect normal wear from commercial use, but the upside is no reserve holding things back. Check the photos and inspection details before bidding.

Pickles is running the sale from their Sydney operation, with the trailer likely stored at their Milperra site.
One lot means a straightforward auction. No wading through hundreds of items. If you need a trailer for site work, towing machinery, or general hauling, this is worth a look. Check the photos for condition and any attachments included. Close date is July 29, 2026, so you have time to inspect before bidding.
-

Unreserved – Telehandler, Boom Lift & Forklifts Sale
More detail
This sale is built around heavy lifting gear for warehouses, farms, and construction sites. The 2015 Manitou MT-X625 telehandler is a standout, offering solid reach and capacity for moving pallets or materials on rough ground. The 2006 Genie 234/221C diesel boom lift adds aerial access capability, useful for maintenance or site work.
Two Toyota forklifts round out the key lots: an LPG-powered 32-8FGJ35 counter balance model and a 2015 5-tonne diesel unit. The mix of fuel types and capacities gives buyers options depending on their yard or workshop setup. With no reserve on any item, the final price will be whatever the bidding decides. Unreserved Ex-Hire Excavation & Construction Equipment – QLD
More detail
This is a straight unreserved clearance of gear that has been earning its keep on hire. The Kubota U17-3 hydraulic excavator and the KX018-4 mini excavator are both solid entry-level machines for small sites or landscaping work, and the SVL75 skid steer is a versatile tracked loader that holds its value well.
Buyers should check the condition of the Hino 300 tipper closely, as ex-hire trucks can cop a hiding. The auction is in Pinkenba, so arrange an inspection before bidding if you can. No reserve means the highest bid wins, regardless of price.

Mounted Pump Trailer And Generator Sale – QLD
More detail
This two-lot sale is a tight package for anyone needing site-ready pumping and backup power. The Wacker-Neuson unit is a serious bit of gear for moving water fast, while the Shindaiwa DG37MK-P generator offers reliable output for tools or lights. Both are mounted on a trailer, making them easy to tow between jobs.
Buyers should check the close date, which is still to be confirmed. Given the low lot count, these items are likely sold as individual lots. If you need a portable pump or a generator, this is a straightforward grab from a known auction house.

Skid Steers And Excavator Attachments & More-Tmba(Unused)
More detail
This is a straight plant-equipment auction with a strong focus on unused attachments. The featured lots are all brand-new condition: the Auger Drive Attachment, Sweeper Broom Attachment, and two types of grapple buckets. That’s a solid pick for anyone setting up a skid steer or needing to replace worn gear.
The auction runs through Grays, so expect their usual online bidding process. With no close date confirmed yet, you have time to inspect the lot list as it populates. If you’re after clean, unused attachments without the retail markup, this is worth a look. Check the full catalogue for any additional items that may appear before bidding opens.

Shorelands Crane Ancillary & Lifting Equipment Insolvency Sale 2
More detail
This is the second instalment of the Shorelands Crane clearance, so expect a focused lineup of lifting hardware rather than mixed plant. The lot list includes wire rope slings in various sizes, rated shackles, turnbuckles, and lifting beams. There are also chain blocks and webbing slings, likely from regular fleet rotation.
Buyers should check the condition notes on each lot, as some gear may show wear from tropical use. Darwin pickup only. The auction closes on 30 July 2026, so there is time to inspect if you are serious about adding rated lifting equipment to your workshop or hire fleet.

Trucks, Buildings & Machinery Auction
More detail
This auction covers both ends of the heavy vehicle spectrum. The DAF CF7585 vacuum unit is the headline gear for anyone in waste or civil work, while the Hino FS 700 gives you a solid 6×4 tipper platform for site jobs. There is also a 2014 Hino 500 4×2 tipper sitting alongside the Isuzu NPR 300 for lighter haulage.
Buyers should note the auction is listed with a TBC close date, so check the listing regularly for the exact cut-off. With only 12 lots, the sale is compact but targeted. If you need a working truck or tipper body, this is worth a look before the date firms up.
