MAPh X Artist Photography Auction Announcement

PETRINA HICKS born 1972 Memento mori III 2024

The Museum of Australian Photography (MAPh) is Australia’s leading public art museum devoted to the collection and exhibition of photography. The upcoming auction will take place at 6pm on Thursday, 27 March 2025, hosted by James Makin Gallery in Collingwood, Victoria.

MAPh has collaborated with artists to create a unique auction where both the artists and the museum share equally in the proceeds from sales. Buyers will have the opportunity to directly impact artists and their creative practices.

The auction features an impressive selection of photographic works by leading contemporary Australian artists, including Brook Andrew, Petrina Hicks, and Amos Gebhardt, among others.

Funds raised from the auction will support MAPh’s exhibition programs and assist artists in their creative endeavors.
