Moreover, the auction marketplace in Australia provides an important service facilitating the recycling and repurposing of used machinery and goods which we believe has a positive effect on the environment, reducing demand on natural resources, and reducing the load on landfills.
Currently, we curate auction listings providing a regular post each week about major auctions taking place in each state, along with a post each week for major car, truck, campervan, motorcycle, and boat auctions.

The History of Auction Finder Australia – Online since 2005
The idea for the website came from Rod L’Huillier, who lived by the moto “why buy new when used will do“, something inherited from growing up on the farm and attending Clearing Sales regularly searching for used machinery that can be repurposed or brought back to life for part the cost of new. A way of life every farmhand will know.
Later in life, Rod would visit local auctions for all types of goods, often buying bulk lots and recycling, then putting the good items back into the marketplace. It was also a great way to save on personal needs, saving big money on home needs, computer, camera, cars, and just about everything.
In 2005, growing tired of searching multiple websites and buying newspapers to find out about upcoming sales, Rod started AuctionFinder. At that time it was a simple website providing an index of auction houses in each capital city and state, something it still does today.
In recent years, functionality grew to include regular posts each week with upcoming auctions taking place in each state, along with a post each week for major car, truck, campervan, motorcycle, and boat auctions. Another popular feature of the site is the Auction Search Engine which allows users to search auction sites across Australia for the item they seek.
